Kingston is located in Canada, in the Eastern end of Lake Ontario. In 1840 the whole of Kingston downtown area burnt due to a dock fire that spread to a warehouse containing gun powder. Then Kingston started building with limestone to avoid a similar incidence in future. Hence its nickname, "Limestone City."
