Programs

• General English

  This program is designed to improve English skills required for university. Each lesson is 50 minutes and corresponds to all levels of the placement test taken at the time of enrollment.

• Academic Year

  This program provides students with academic support at the university, where they can receive counseling and advice from our professional staff after their regular General English classes.
  The advantage of this program is that students can easily get support from professional staff members on areas of their university classes that they do not understand or have difficulty understanding in English.

• Cambridge Exam Preparation

  The main focus of this course is to prepare students for the Cambridge English Proficiency Examination. Only students who have scored Upper Intermediate or above in the entrance examination are eligible for this course.
  Students will learn from the instructor the methods and study skills needed to prepare for the examinations. This program is recommended for those who want to play an active role in the world in the future through this globally recognized examination.

• TOEFL Exam Preparation

  The main focus of this program is to prepare students for the TOEFL test, which is accepted by schools in many English-speaking countries. Designed for students who have achieved low advanced level and above in the placement system of the school.
  Students will have the opportunity to study with a friendly instructor who will work with them according to their individual strengths and weaknesses.

• Private Lessons

  This is a one-on-one lesson with an instructor that can be added to regular classes. Students can check the topics they did not understand or could not ask about in the class.
  Students can also take courses that are more advanced than the classes if the classes alone are insufficient for their requirements. This personalized instruction is the primary advantage of this program.

• English plus Experience in California

  This course allows students to participate in work experience activities away from school. After class, students work 12-20 hours per week for a minimum of 8 weeks at a local company chosen by CEL.
  Industries include travel, marketing, web design and many others.
  CEL offers a very valuable opportunity to actually work at a local company and to interact and get to know the local people.

• English plus Volunteering

  This is an additional course that allows students to participate in extracurricular volunteer activities. By enrolling in this course, students can participate in the activities of a local non-profit organization at least three times a week. This is a great opportunity to interact with other volunteer participants and recipients of assistance, as well as to improve language skills.
  Participants in this course are encouraged to stay involved in the same activity for as long as possible, rather than for a short period of time.

Pacific Beach, located 300 meters from the school, is a famous surfing spot in California. The surrounding area is a popular resort area lined with trendy stores that are well-known among tourists. There is also a great nightlife with clubs, bars and pubs.
