Recommendations

1. Comprehensive English+α Support Services
Mentor Language Institute (MLI) offers an ESL (English as a Second Language)+α program to meet the needs of students who wish to study abroad in Los Angeles, the entertainment epicenter of the world. Programs available include dance, yoga, music (voice training, guitar, piano), surfing and scuba diving.
Even if something is not included in an existing program, the school may sometimes be able to accommodate the request.
ESL classes are held until 1:15PM allowing students to attend corresponding lessons in their free afternoon hours.
Staff members provide guidance on transportation, how to pay lesson fees and how to make reservations on the apprehensive first participation day, so students can feel at ease even if it is their first time abroad.

2. Affordable Course Fees
Despite the quality of instruction provided by teachers who have been selected through a strict 20% hiring process, the courses offered at MLI are competitively priced.
The longer the duration of the course, the more discounts are applied.
At USD201 per week for 37 weeks or more, the course fee is significantly lower than the tuition at other LA language schools.

3. Extensive Partner Schools
MLI holds special permission and mutual recognition agreements with numerous colleges and universities in the Los Angeles area.
Mutual Recognition Programs (MRP) allow students to be accepted into colleges or universities without TOEFL® or other English tests.
Students can take classes at MLI and attend a college or university concurrently.
After completing intermediate or higher level classes, students can use the Mutual Recognition Programs Agreement to enter prestigious colleges such as the University of California (UCLA) and the University of Southern California (USC), along with Santa Monica College and many other colleges.

TOEFL® Preparation Program
This program is intended to prepare students for the TOEFL® iBT, which is used for admissions to nearly all colleges and universities in the United States, as well as by government agencies, private companies, certification agencies and scholarship organizations as proof of English language proficiency.
The program aims not only at test-taking strategies to achieve high scores, but also to improve the 4 skills of writing, listening, speaking and reading in English. -

Discussions will help students develop the ability to converse in situations that are relevant to life in the United States. The Conversation Program is divided into Intermediate and Advanced levels.
The Intermediate level is aimed at developing students' ability to converse in English, while the Advanced level is designed for students to learn higher level conversational skills along with daily conversation skills. -
Business Plus TOEIC Program
In the international business scene, English is the universal language of the world. The program is aimed at improving practical business communication skills in English as well as boosting TOEIC® test scores.

Students also learn how to prepare for interviews, including portfolio and resume preparation to effectively present themselves, interview etiquette in English and how to negotiate a competitive salary.
Through intensive practice, students will develop English language skills for business use.
The TOEIC Preparation Course covers the different sections of the TOEIC and aims to achieve the highest possible score in the shortest time possible.
