Aegean Airlines, originally founded as Aegean Aviation in 1987, holds the distinction of being Greece’s first airline. It was renamed Aegean Airlines in 1999 and operates primarily out of Athens International Airport. In 2010, the airline joined the Star Alliance, enabling smoother connections for its passengers. In 2013, Aegean Airlines acquired Olympic Air, which continues to operate as a separate entity. With a fleet of 38 aircraft and a network that spans 72 domestic and international destinations, Aegean Airlines has become the largest airline in Greece.
Aegean Airlines offers a reliable service to ensure that children aged 5 to 12 can travel safely without a guardian. Dedicated airport staff closely monitor the child from check-in to arrival at the destination airport, addressing any unforeseen circumstances immediately. To book this service, parents or guardians must provide the child’s name, address, phone number, and valid identification of the accompanying adults at both departure and arrival points. Reservations can be made through Aegean Airlines' call center, and service fees are detailed on the airline’s official website.

It is possible to transfer between flights from Manila to Athens and from Athens to Santorini on the same day, but it requires careful planning. Aegean Airlines generally has a reliable schedule, but delays can sometimes occur, especially due to weather conditions, such as strong winds in the Aegean Sea that can affect flights to islands like Santorini.
