Air Asia is a Malaysian low-cost airline with its hub at Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (klia2). It is the largest airline in Malaysia based on fleet size and number of destinations. The airline commenced operations on November 18th, 1996 and has grown considerably since its founding.
Checked baggage is not included in basic fares for Air Asia - if you need to check in luggage make sure to add this option while booking, it's more expensive to add later. Air Asia allows passengers to add checked luggage from 15kg to 40kg to their tickets for an additional charge. Note that each piece of checked baggage should not exceed 32kg for safety reasons.
Domestic flights with AirAsia Indonesia and AirAsia India include a complimentary 15kg checked baggage allowance.
Air Asia has a weight limit of 7kg/15lbs for carry-on baggage. Each passenger is allowed one bag per person. if your cabin baggage weighs over 7kg you may have to pay an additional fee. Some routes of Air Asia allow you to purchase an extra piece of carry-on baggage while booking your flight.
Air Asia’s in-flight meal service, Santan, offers a wide selection of Asian, international and vegetarian options for passengers to purchase during flights. The Santan Combo Meal provides passengers with great value and savings, plus the ability to choose from a wide selection. All pre-booked meals come with a complimentary drink as well. Customers can pre-book meals online with their ticket, at an extra cost for basic fare types.
Since the EDM is sent 14 days prior to the flight, you will need to book a flight more than 14 days from the date of travel to be able to receive the offer.
Air Asia Premium Flex includes 20kg of checked baggage, seat selection, priority boarding and baggage, flight insurance and a complimentary in-flight meal.
AirAsia X is part of the AirAsia airline brand which focuses on medium and long-haul flights rather than short flights between domestic destinations and neighboring countries.
Air Asia’s mileage and frequent flyer program is called the BIG Loyalty Programme or just BIG. The program allows customers flying with Air Asia to collect miles to be used to buy flights, flight upgrades, shop using the Air Asia money app, and book hotels. The collected miles can be used with Air Asia and all their subsidiaries and regional airlines.
Air Asia allows passengers to check-in online and print your own boarding pass or download an e-ticket onto your phone. Note that some airport counters may charge extra for check-in services and printing boarding passes at the airport.
