Air Malta is the flag carrier of Malta, based at Malta International Airport with routes mainly around Europe and North Africa. The airline was formed from combining a number of private airlines in Malta such as BAS Malta, Malta Instone and Malta Airlines to form Air Malta.
Economy Class passengers (Go Smart and Go Flex fares) with Air Malta may bring one piece of checked baggage of up to 23kg/50lbs. Note that a checked baggage allowance is not included for Go Light fares with Air Malta and must be purchased as an extra. Business Class passengers on Just Business fares may bring one piece of checked baggage of up to 32kg/70lbs and those purchasing Smart Business and Business Freedom fares may bring two pieces of checked baggage at 32kg/70lbs per piece.
Economy Class passengers with Air Malta may bring one piece of carry-on baggage of up to 10kg plus a smaller personal item that must weigh under 2kg. Business Class passengers with Air Malta may bring two pieces of carry-on baggage at a total combined weight of up to 15kg.
Dimensions for carry-on baggage with Air Malta must be under 40 x 55 x 25 cm and under 40 x 30 x 15 cm for the smaller personal item.
Air Malta aims to provide the quality service to passengers, providing hot and healthy meals for Business Class passengers. Passengers with special dietary needs are able to pre-order their meal at least 48 hours before their scheduled flight. Air Malta also offers a wide selection of products through their unique Sky Bar Menu for Economy Class passengers, which passengers can purchase food and drink items from. This service is not available on some of Air Malta's shorter routes.

Swiss International Air Lines
The mileage and frequent flyer program for Air Malta is called Flypass, letting passengers earn and use points called KMiles to purchase tickets or flight upgrades. Air Malta is not part of an airline alliance however the airline is partnered with Lufthansa and Swiss Air allowing passengers to earn and use miles between each airline.
Air Malta lets Economy Class passengers check in at airport counters until 45 minutes before the scheduled departure time for flights. Business Class passengers with hand luggage only can usually check it up to 30 minutes before departure time. Online check-in for Air Malta is available 24 hours before the departure time and closes two hours before.
