Air Mauritius - Overview
Air Mauritius was established on June 14, 1967 by Air France, the BOAC enterprise, and the government of Mauritius. At first, Air Mauritius operated international services with Air France. Air Mauritius started long-haul services in its own right. Air Mauritius long-range operations started on November 1, 1977. A second Twin Otter arrived in 1979. Air Mauritius launched the 'Air Corridor' with its first direct flight to Singapore. Air Mauritius and Singapore are working together in order to stimulate the growth of passenger and cargo traffic between Asia and Africa through these two hubs.

Totally excellent trip
We travelled with Air Mauritius for some time, but we had an absolutely fabulous trip. The staff was really great, the wine wonderful and the food tremendous. We were very impressed and are about to do the next leg to LAX. We did have an over 13 hour journey. Hold over, but booked into a nap, went to Auckland on the ski bus. The crew onboard he flight were maybe the best we have ever experienced and that includes food. This route was by far the most inexpensive.
Crew were always friendly and professional
The business class cabins on this route are always full these days. With that, service levels were never compromised, the crew was always friendly and professional. One of the stewards remembered me from the same flight in February and remembered that my drink of choice was Single Malt Whisky. The main course choice for me on the outward route was the most sublime Beef Rib Roast that I have ever tasted. All through the night, there is a crew member available for anything you need and a good range of snacks and drinks are available. Without a doubt, Air Mauritius would always be my airline of choice for this route.
