Air Tahiti is a regional airline operating flights from Tahiti to 46 islands in French Polynesia, as well as Rarotonga in the Cook Islands. It is an ideal choice for travelers looking to explore or enjoy leisure trips across the Polynesian islands. Air Tahiti offers a convenient self-service check-in process at the kiosks located at Faa'a International Airport, available from 16 hours to 25 minutes before departure. Additionally, passengers can check in online between 16 hours and 1 hour before their flight.
One important point to note is that flight schedules are subject to changes in April and November. If a schedule adjustment affects your flight after booking, you may need to rearrange accommodations, tours, or other travel plans accordingly.
Air Tahiti offers more than just one-way or round-trip flights to individual destinations. The airline is also perfect for multi-island tours, allowing travelers to visit several islands in a single day. For groups of 15 or more, charter flights are available, making it a versatile choice for corporate events or large tour groups.
Air Tahiti also provides exceptional support for passengers with specific needs, such as those with medical conditions, families traveling with small children, or unaccompanied minors. The airline’s flexibility and customer care make it a reliable and reassuring option for all travelers.

Air Tahiti offers services that allow passengers to experience the warmth and culture of Polynesian hospitality onboard. During the flight, reclining seats provide a comfortable space where guests are welcomed with fruit juice, and depending on the time of day, coffee or tea may also be served. Additionally, light snacks like biscuits and other treats can be purchased onboard. On certain flights, depending on the destination and flight duration, sandwiches and alcoholic beverages are also available for purchase.
For flights to some of the more remote islands, Air Tahiti operates smaller aircraft, such as Beechcraft and Twin Otter planes, where onboard services differ from the standard offerings. As there are no cabin crew on these flights, passengers watch a safety video before departure to ensure all safety procedures are understood. Since in-flight services are limited, travelers are advised to bring any necessary food or beverages with them.
Air Tahiti provides a variety of fare options to suit different travel needs:
・One-Island Fares: Designed for travelers flying directly between two islands. These fares vary based on route, demand, and booking class.
・Multi-Island Passes: Ideal for those visiting multiple islands, offering cost-effective bundles such as the Bora Bora Pass or Bora Tuamotu Light Pass. These passes include conditions on sequence and duration of island stays.
Air Tahiti offers three main fare types:
・Special Fare: The most economical option with restrictions. Changes incur fees, and cancellations are non-refundable.
・Flex Fare: Offers moderate flexibility, allowing changes or partial refunds under specific conditions.
・Full Flex Fare: Maximum flexibility with free changes, cancellations, and additional perks like priority boarding and extra baggage allowance.
Air Tahiti operates a single class of service across its ATR 42 and ATR 72 turboprop aircraft:
・Seating Layout: Typically a 2-2 configuration with standard legroom.
・Seat Features: Seats are designed for short domestic flights with limited recline and no in-flight entertainment systems.
・Onboard Service: Basic in-flight service, including light refreshments on select routes.
・Baggage Policy: Passengers are allowed one piece of checked baggage and one carry-on item, with allowances depending on the fare type and route.
Air Tahiti does not have a dedicated frequent flyer program. However, its international counterpart, Air Tahiti Nui, offers the Club Tiare program, allowing members to earn and redeem miles for flights, upgrades, and other benefits.
The program includes three tiers—Tahia, Silver, and Gold—with escalating rewards such as:
・Bonus miles on flights.
・Priority check-in and boarding.
・Access to lounges and additional baggage allowances.
Status levels are earned through accruing miles within a 12-month period.
