The history of Air Zimbabwe dates back to 1946 when the governments of present-day Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Malawi jointly established Central African Airways. Central African Airways operated for 21 years before disbanding in 1967. Following this, Air Zimbabwe was founded as Air Rhodesia. In 1980, with the establishment of the Republic of Zimbabwe, the airline was renamed Air Zimbabwe. As the flag carrier of Zimbabwe, it operates from Harare International Airport as its hub, with routes extending to Asia and Europe.
Air Zimbabwe's engineers have been praised by Boeing, a leading American aircraft manufacturer, for their expertise in daily aircraft maintenance and adjustments. The airline also operates an aviation school at its headquarters, offering training in aeronautics and services. This institution has produced numerous aviation specialists who contribute both domestically and internationally.

Air Zimbabwe offers four fare classes: Promo, Standard, Flex, and Full-Flex. Promo fares are the most budget-friendly but have the strictest restrictions, such as no refunds or changes. Flex and Full-Flex fares provide greater flexibility, including refundable options and enhanced services like priority boarding and lounge access for Full-Flex passengers.
Modification and cancellation policies depend on the fare type. Promo fares typically do not allow changes or refunds, while Standard fares may allow limited modifications for a fee. Flex and Full-Flex fares provide significantly more flexibility, with Full-Flex allowing free changes and refunds.
Economy Class offers standard seating with moderate legroom, suitable for short-haul flights. Passengers receive complimentary refreshments or meals based on flight duration. Additional services, such as extra baggage or priority boarding, can be purchased for more convenience.
Business Class provides larger seats with more legroom and reclining options, priority services such as check-in and boarding, and access to airport lounges at select locations. Onboard, passengers enjoy premium meals and beverages, along with a more personalized travel experience.
