Established in 1995 as Asian Spirit with just two aircraft, the airline underwent a rebranding to Zest Airways in 2013. That same year, it partnered with the AirAsia Group and was renamed AirAsia Zest, becoming a key part of the AirAsia family. As the third-largest airline in the Philippines after Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific, AirAsia Zest operates domestic flights from its Manila hub to destinations such as Cebu and Davao, as well as international routes to Kuala Lumpur and Macau.
True to its name, AirAsia Zest is part of the AirAsia Group, Asia’s largest low-cost carrier. The airline group has won the World’s Best Low-Cost Carrier award for seven consecutive years, as ranked by the renowned aviation research organization Skytrax. With an extensive network, AirAsia Zest connects travelers to major cities in Japan, Australia, and across Southeast Asia, making it possible to travel halfway around the globe at budget-friendly prices.

All drinks and food on board are charged. On domestic flights with a flight time of 75 minutes or less, only snacks are sold, but on international flights, you can enjoy famous dishes from cities served by airlines, such as Korea, Malaysia, and Thailand. Also, if you make a reservation in advance at the same time as your ticket, you can buy the items cheaper than if you bought them on the plane, and you will be given priority when you order your items.
Although flight delays and sudden cancellations are not uncommon with LCCs, AirAsia has received high praise. In addition, the seats and in-flight services are praised as being worth more than the ticket price, making this an airline worthy of the World's Best LCC Award. Taiwanese souvenirs are also sold on board with a delivery service, so you don't have to worry if you forget to buy souvenirs.
