Cebu Pacific, established in 1998, is a low-cost carrier headquartered in Manila, the capital of the Philippines. It operates both domestic and international scheduled flights and has grown to surpass Philippine Airlines in scale, becoming the largest airline in the country. In 2008, it began service between Kansai International Airport and Manila, and by 2016, it had expanded to include four Japanese cities: Narita, Chubu, Kansai, and Fukuoka. In 2014, Cebu Pacific announced a service partnership with Tigerair Singapore, the largest low-cost carrier in Singapore, to share routes and networks, enhancing customer service and expanding its operational reach. Tigerair Philippines, a Philippine-based subsidiary of Tigerair, has since been renamed Cebgo, with ticket booking available through Cebu Pacific's reservation platform.
Cebu Pacific operates a fleet that includes Airbus A319, A320, and A330 jet aircraft, as well as ATR72-500 turboprop aircraft from European manufacturer ATR. These modern aircraft defy the notion that low cost equates to low quality. Between 2016 and 2021, Cebu Pacific introduced new Airbus A320, A330, and A321neo models, along with ATR72-600 aircraft, reinforcing its commitment to providing a safe and reliable flying experience.
