Cologne is the fourth largest city in Germany, and a major cultural center. Cologne is located in the west of Germany, close to the border with Belgium and the Netherlands. Cologne is an ancient city, with a history reaching back to the 1st Century and the Roman Empire. Cologne was almost completely destroyed in the Second World War, so it now has a mix of rebuilt ancient buildings and new modern ones.

A Tour of Cologne's Historic Buildings
Living in nearby Austria allows me to make regular trips on tickets into German cities to soak up all the German history there. My latest trip was on a ticket for Cologne, which is in the west of Germany and was originally founded as a Roman provincial capital. I flew on a ticket for Cologne with Austrian Airlines, which is my favorite airline because the service is always good and the flights are not packed like they are with some other major airlines. In Cologne I bought a bus tour ticket that took us to see many of Cologne's famous historical buildings, which was a real treat for me.
My German Vacation in Cologne
I had been promising my family a vacation on the European continent for a few years before I was finally able to save up for tickets to Germany from Scotland. We found a cheap deal for tickets with Eurowings that allowed the whole family to travel for a reasonable price. The staff on the Eurowings flight took very good care of all the passengers, and they took extra care to keep the kids entertained . We started our German tour in Cologne because all the guides said that it was one of the most beautiful cities in Germany, and they were right. My wife and I kept the kids entertained while we traveled around Cologne taking in all the beautiful sights.
A Week of Art and History in Cologne
I love both art and history, so Cologne was the perfect place to buy a ticket to see a bunch of great art galleries and museums. Living in nearby Romania means that I can get cheap tickets to Germany with Blue Air regularly. I had to wait a few weeks before finding some last minute tickets for my sister and I, but I got the tickets for a really great price. Our flight over to Cologne on our Blue Air tickets was so much fun because my sister is so funny. The staff took excellent care of us, and made sure that we always had food and drinks to keep us busy. My sister and I tried to see every art gallery in Cologne, but we did not have enough time. Now we need to wait for the next cheap tickets for Cologne to go again.
