Established in 1989, Croatia Airlines serves as the national flag carrier of Croatia. Based at Zagreb International Airport, its hub in the capital city, the airline connects domestic destinations and major cities across Europe. Initially operating as a cargo airline under the name Zagreb Airlines, it began passenger services in 1991. Despite facing economic challenges during the Croatian War of Independence in 1992, Croatia Airlines overcame adversity to become a key player in the industry. With the addition of new passenger aircraft and its membership in the Star Alliance, the airline solidified its position as Croatia's leading carrier.
Croatia has become an increasingly popular tourist destination, including for Japanese travelers. The country boasts stunning cities like Dubrovnik’s Old Town, the inspiration for "Kiki's Delivery Service," as well as Split, and seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Dubrovnik, in particular, is renowned for its charming streets and numerous museums, making it an excellent place to explore history while enjoying the atmosphere reminiscent of Studio Ghibli’s magical worlds.
Accessing Dubrovnik is straightforward via Zagreb International Airport, Croatia Airlines' hub. From Zagreb, travelers can take a domestic flight to Dubrovnik Airport, where a free shuttle service offers a more economical option than taxis. For more information, visit the Croatia Airlines website.

For children aged between 7 days and 2 years, they are seated on the lap of a parent or guardian. The fare for infants is 10% of the adult ticket price. It’s important to notify the airline in advance if you are traveling with an infant.
In business class, Croatia Airlines offers two types of baby meals: one for infants up to 6 months old and another for toddlers up to 2 years old. Child meals have smaller, easier-to-eat portions of meat, and the seasoning is mild to suit children's tastes.
While Croatia Airlines avoids serving peanut products in their meals to accommodate passengers with peanut allergies, it’s not possible to completely eliminate the presence of peanuts. Therefore, passengers with severe allergies should bring their own necessary medication, like an Epipen.
Tickets can be easily booked and purchased through the Croatia Airlines website. You can reserve up to six tickets per transaction, but note that a credit card is required for online purchases.
