Visiting Ethiopia with an onward ticket
I traveled on an onward ticket from Nairobi through Ethiopia to Djibouti. I purchased the ticket with Air Ethiopia . While the ticket was quite expensive, I preferred this option instead of a return direct ticket from Nairobi to Djibouti City, so that I can visit Ethiopia. I bought the ticket from an online ticket agency. I was able to spend several days touring Addis Ababa and its many churches. Air Ethiopia offered great service, and good food was included in the price of the airfare ticket as well as the transfers from and to the airport in Bolivia. I can say that I fell in love with Ethiopia. With a direct ticket to Djibouti City this would not have been possible. I am more than happy that I wasn't counting money when I decided for this airfare ticket which allowed me to discover Ethiopia.
Visiting Ethiopia for a conference
I visited Ethiopia last year for a conference that took place in Addis Ababa. I was invited, so all my costs were covered by the Institute of Forensic Medicine who had asked me to be their keynote speaker. Thanks to this invitation, I was able to discover first class service aboard the American Airlines flight from Miami, since the institute booked a first class ticket for me. This return ticket was probably quite pricey, but I really enjoyed the services. Only one event tarnished the otherwise perfect trip, and that was the cancellation of my flight ticket on the way back - the ticket was rebooked on a later date due to some technical issues at the airport in Ethiopia. If my situation allows, I would love to return to Ethiopia, and I might once again book my ticket for the premier class.
