Finnair’s economy class passengers can pre-order their in-flight meals unlike some other airlines. Special dietary requirements are taken seriously so please request for a special meal or provide information about dietary needs at the time of booking your ticket.
Extra bag charges will apply for baggage that exceeds your baggage allowance (23kg for Economy Class). The maximum baggage allowance is up to ten pieces. However, you can use Finnair Plus points (if you are a member) to pay for extra bag charges. It's cheaper to buy extra baggage with Finnair online before you fly compared to at check in.
Please contact Finnair’s Arrival Service desk which will enter your information into a worldwide baggage tracing System and give you a Property Irregularity Report with a report number.
Finnair's mileage and frequent flyer program is called Finnair Plus, allowing customers to collect points and miles to be used to buy future tickets, upgrades and tier status. Finnair has a four-tier status Finnair Plus, Finnair Plus Silver, Finnair Plus Gold and Finnair Plus Platinum. As Finnair is part of the oneworld Alliance, they are partnered with airlines such as American Airlines, LATAM and JAL.
Finnair allows you to check-in prior to arriving at the airport so customers can avoid the long lines at the service counters. Online check-in opens 36 hours before departure time, and the service is open 24 hours a day. Just Login and follow instructions. Once you arrive at the airport, you can use the self-service Bag Drop, print the bag tag, place the tagged bag on the belt, scan the boarding tag, the bag tag, and send it into the baggage system.
