Garuda Indonesia is the national flag carrier airline of Indonesia. The airline is named after the Hindu holy bird Garuda, which is also the national emblem of the country. Garuda Indonesia is headquartered at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang near Jakarta. The international airline review firm Skytrax has given the airline as 5-star reviews since 2014. Garuda Indonesia was founded in 1947 as KLM Interinsulair Bedrijf; currently it stands as one of the leading airlines of the world. The Garuda Indonesia aircraft are maintained by GMF AeroAsia. The current airline fleet includes Airbus A330-200, ATR 72-600, Boeing 737-800, Boeing 737 MAX 8, Boeing 777-300ER and Bombardier CRJ1000, and includes 142 aircraft.

In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) is also available on most of the aircrafts for relaxation of passengers. The touch-screens are located on seatbacks or armrests. There are also cabin screens that display Airshow, a moving map system that passengers can use to check the flight progress, along with watching movies, short movies, and featured films. Newspapers and magazines are provided to all passengers on all flights of Garuda Indonesia.
Garuda Indonesia provides First Class service on 6 Boeing 777-300ERs. These have a 24-inch AVOD screen and bed-convertible seats with a touchscreen seat controller. A highly competent chef adds further value to the first class experience. first class passengers can also use the in-flight free Wi-Fi connection. Other cabin seats include Executive Class and Economy Class.
I chose Garuda Indonesia for my flight from Jakarta to Sydney. I have to say: I have never had a more relaxing international flight. I know I am automatically going to select Garuda International for my return flight as well as for any future flights both in and out of Indonesia.
Thoroughly a valuable service when it comes to Garuda Indonesia. Not for a moment do I feel I have not been provided the service equivalent to what I paid. It will remain my first-choice airline for travel.

A. You can change the flight schedule on an Award Air Ticket or Upgrade Award at the cost of 20% of the total mileage. If you do not have sufficient miles left for the deduction, you cannot make the schedule change on your Award Air Ticket or Upgrade Award. You also cannot change the flight route, class, or name on the Award Air Ticket. A. Starting May 15th, 2016, your GarudaMiles membership card will no longer be printed in physical form until you become Platinum or EC+ member. Use your GarudaMiles e-card, which is available on the Garuda Indonesia mobile app to do your GarudaMiles activities and transactions. The e-card menu can be accessed after you login in to the Garuda Indonesia mobile app, which can be downloaded in Google Play Store or iOS App Store.
GarudaMiles is the Garuda Indonesia mileage program that is available to loyal customers of the airline. Miles are earned when air tickets with Garuda Indonesia are purchased. The miles that are accumulated can be redeemed to upgrade from Economy to Business Class on selected air tickets. These miles are also transferable and can be awarded to family and friends. There are several other benefits in the mileage programs, including access to Garuda Indonesia airport lounges, priority waitlist on air ticket reservations, priority baggage handling, extra baggage allowance, special check-in counters at the airport, and so on.
Garuda Indonesia advises passengers to check in at the airport at least 1 hour before departure time for domestic departure and 2 hours before departure time for international departure; however, it is even better to arrive at the airport earlier than expected. Mobile check-in, online check-in, kiosk check-in and counter check-in are all available.
