The Hainan Airline dinner typically includes meat, most commonly chicken or beef, fish, or pasta with salad or vegetables, a small bread roll, and a dessert. During morning flights, a cooked breakfast or smaller continental-style may be served. However, depending on the duration of the flight, flight route, and air ticket class of the passenger, the options available may differ. Additionally, there are special meal options available for children, passengers with dietary needs and diabetic passengers.

Like other airlines, Hainan Airline also offers a mileage program to their passengers. Hainan Airlines's frequent-flyer program is called Fortune Wings Club. The airlines' subsidiaries Hong Kong Airlines, Lucky Air, Tianjin Airlines, Beijing Capital Airlines, Fuzhou Airlines and parent company Grand China Air are also parts of the program. It is also possible for passengers to collect miles on Air Berlin, Alaska Airlines, Etihad Airways and the airlines which have codeshares with Hainan Airlines. Members can earn miles on flights as well as through consumption with Hainan Airlines's credit card. When enough miles are collected, members can be upgraded to Elite members which are divided into four tiers: Fortune Wings Platinum membership, Gold membership, Silver membership, and Flying Card membership.

Hainan Airline has an online check-in system on select destinations and is available 42 hours before the flight time.

Some airports do not support printed online check-in boarding passes and accordingly, passengers should arrive at the Hainan Airline Airport check-in at the air ticket counter at least 2 hours in advance to carry out check-in procedures and to obtain their boarding pass.
