Jetstar - Overview

Jetstar Japan Airlines is a low-cost carrier (LCC) under the Jetstar Group, providing domestic and international services based at Tokyo Narita Airport. Established in 2011, it was founded through investments from the Qantas Group, Japan Airlines, and Mitsubishi Corporation. In 2012, Tokyo Century Leasing Corporation also joined as an investor.

Since commencing operations in 2012, the airline surpassed 7 million cumulative passengers within three and a half years, achieving the fastest growth among Japanese LCCs.

In 2013, all flights became codeshare flights with Japan Airlines. From 2014, five domestic routes were codeshared with American Airlines, and as of January 2015, all routes departing from and arriving at Narita Airport became codeshare flights with Qantas Airways, ensuring seamless connections with major carriers.

Uniquely among Japanese LCCs, Jetstar Japan has established a cargo transportation division, expanding its range of services.

Jetstar Japan has adopted the innovative "Lowest Price Guarantee" policy from the Jetstar Group since its inception. If a lower fare than Jetstar Japan's is found on another airline's website, customers can call the Jetstar call center to book the flight for 10% less than the competitor’s price.

The official mascot of Jetstar Japan is Jet-kun, and the brand ambassador is actress Mirei Kiritani.
