Founded in 1976 through the merger of Royal Air Lao and Lao Airlines, the national airline of Laos has undergone several rebrandings, becoming Lao Aviation in 1979 and Lao Airlines in 2004. Based in the capital city of Vientiane, the airline operates its hub at Wattay International Airport. Domestically, it serves 8 cities across 9 routes, while its international network includes 16 cities across 22 routes in Cambodia, China, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Lao Airlines has been recognized for its outstanding achievements, receiving multiple prestigious business awards. In 2007, it was honored with the "International Arch of Europe" award for excellence in quality and technology by BID (Business Initiative Directions). The airline also received BID’s Quality Summit Awards in 2008 and 2009. Furthermore, Lao Airlines was recognized by BIZZ, one of the world's most significant business awards, in 2010, 2011, and 2012, cementing its reputation for excellence in the aviation industry.

Our largest aircraft, the Airbus A320, offers 8-16 business class seats. Smaller aircraft do not have this option.
Previously required, a visa is no longer necessary for stays of up to 15 days for tourism purposes. For longer stays, a visa is still required. Additionally, your passport must have at least 6 months of validity remaining. Please ensure this requirement is met, as you will not be allowed to board the plane without it.
