Precision Air

Founded in 1993, Precision Air began as a private charter airline primarily serving tourists visiting Tanzania's national parks. However, the company expanded rapidly, venturing into cargo operations and scheduled passenger flights. Today, it has become Tanzania's largest airline. Based in Dar es Salaam, the capital of Tanzania, Precision Air focuses on connecting major cities within the country and operates key routes to neighboring Kenya, including flights to Nairobi and Mombasa. While there are no direct flights from Japan, passengers can access Precision Air's network through codeshare agreements with airlines like Qatar Airways, which offer connecting flights via Doha. The airline's fleet currently consists of 9 aircraft: 3 ATR 42-500s, 5 ATR 72-500s, and 1 ATR 42-600.

Precision Air is recognized for its early adoption of modern airline practices in Africa. In 2006, it introduced e-ticketing and a frequent flyer program, demonstrating its commitment to innovation and passenger convenience. These efforts earned the airline recognition from the Tanzanian government, which awarded it "Best Domestic Scheduled Airline" in 2013. Tanzania boasts rich natural tourism resources, including the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, the Olduvai Gorge—considered the cradle of humankind—and Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa. With a landmass 2.5 times the size of Japan, air travel is essential for navigating this vast country.
