Regional Express, commonly known as Rex, is a private airline established in 2002. It serves domestic routes within Australia and Tasmania, operating a fleet of 52 Saab 340 aircraft, which are twin-turboprop-engine planes with a maximum capacity of 34 passengers. Rex has received numerous accolades, including the ATW (Air Transport World) award in 2010 for its time management and operational safety. Additionally, it was named the Best Australian Regional Airline by the Traveler Awards in 2011, 2013, and 2014, earning strong support from the Australian public.
Rex operates lounges known as "REX LOUNGE" at Sydney Airport’s Gate G2 and Adelaide Airport’s Gate 10. Membership costs approximately $299 per year, and members can invite up to two guests for $22 each (children under 15 can enter for free). Casual lounge access is available to anyone with a valid ticket for $33, providing a comfortable experience before boarding.
Rex offers an online check-in system, allowing passengers to complete their check-in process from 48 hours to 1 hour before departure. However, any changes after online check-in must be handled via phone, ensuring efficient service for travelers.
