SPRING JAPAN is a newcomer in the airline industry, with one-third of its ownership funded by China's low-cost carrier Spring Airlines. Despite being a low-cost carrier, SPRING JAPAN is flexible in responding to demand, including offering additional flights, even temporarily, and provides affordable ticket options to meet passenger needs.
Many LCCs reduce costs by charging for onboard meals and drinks to offer lower ticket prices. While SPRING JAPAN also charges for drinks, it offers unlimited tea for just ¥200, providing an added value. Additionally, passengers can enjoy a ¥50 discount when ordering a set of drinks and snacks, showcasing the airline’s efforts to provide cost-effective and appealing services.
In April 2019, SPRING JAPAN announced its rebranding to "SPRING." Along with the name change, the airline revamped its aircraft designs and check-in counters, aiming to expand its network. Furthermore, it updated its guiding principles, known as the "5S": adding "Swing" (Excitement) and "Spring" (Growth) to the existing "Safety," "Sincerity," and "Smile." As a young LCC in Japan, SPRING is anticipated to grow and develop further in the future.
If you book your flight through skyticket, you can purchase excess baggage allowance in advance. However, if you need to add more baggage after your initial purchase, you'll have to do it through the Spring Airlines website or at the airport.

LCC's sole Saga flight features the popular in-flight magazine "LOVE! Saga," packed with the charms of Saga Prefecture. Saga Prefecture collaborates with local businesses to actively disseminate information about Saga's gourmet food, traditional crafts, and events. Its cute design and easy-to-read layout were popular with women, but with the launch of the new brand "SPRING" in 2019, the in-flight magazine is also being renewed. It will be interesting to see what kind of content it will feature in the future.
