TAP Portugal is the national flag carrier of Portugal. TAP Portugal was founded in 1945 as Transportes Aereos Portugueses, and has been a member of the Star Alliance since 2005. On average, TAP Portugal operates 2,500 flights a week to 87 destinations in 34 countries around the globe. TAP Portugal’s headquarters is located in Lisbon Airport. TAP Portugal was awarded the “World’s Best Airline Award” in 2010 by British Conde Nast Travel magazine, along with various awards from South America and Europe.
The airline fleet size is 95 airplanes with 16 more that are scheduled to be added. The majority of aircrafts that make up TAP Portugal’s fleet are manufactured by Airbus, and the other aircrafts are manufactured by Embraer and ATR. TAP Air Portugal became the launch customer of the Airbus A330-900 in of November 2018.

TAP Air Portugal offers the purchase of air tickets in two classes: business class and economy class. Both classes have seats equipped with modern individual LCDs with touchscreens and lots in-flight entertainment. Passengers can watch movies, tv shows, play games, listen to music, and check flight route information on the screens. Newspapers and printed magazines are provided to all passengers upon request.

A, If you already have your boarding pass downloaded onto your smartphone and checked in prior to arriving at the airport, you can proceed directly to airport security. If not, you must check-in at the service counter. If you’re traveling with checked luggage, you also must stop by the service counter.
A. Yes, TAP Air Portugal allows the transportation of animals in the cabin or hold, depending on the weight, size, and species of the animal. The service must be requested when you book your air ticket or at least 24 hours before the flight. Please double check the requirements for necessary health documents that must be presented at your destination.
A. Yes, TAP Air Portugal provides assistance and full cooperation to visually impaired passengers and transport of guide dogs. Blind passengers must inform the airline of their disability when booking their air ticket, even if they are not traveling with a guide dog. They will be provided with special assistance at the airport until they board the aircraft.
A. Yes, TAP Portugal allows ticket holders to cancel a ticket for a full refund without any penalty, as long as it is done within 24 hours of the ticket booking and more than 7 days before the departure date. All refunds are subject to a refund fee of 15 Euros and the refund will be issued in the form of a voucher that can be used for the purchase of another TAP ticket within one year of the voucher being issued.
TAP Air Portugal mileage program was established to attract and reward the loyal customers who repeatedly buy air tickets from TAP Air Portugal. The amount of miles that are earned depend based on the class of service, ticket fare, and distance travelled. Accumulated miles can be redeemed to upgrade to higher class on the select flights. Additional benefits include access to TAP Air Portugal airport lounges, priority baggage handling, extra baggage allowance, special check-in counters at the airport and more.
TAP Air Portugal offers several check-in methods to for the convenience of passengers. The most utilized method is the automatic check-in through kiosks, which is available in TAP Air Portugal Lisbon Airport and can be used 24 hours before departure. Passengers who have already purchased air tickets can also check-in through the TAP Air Portugal Call Center up to 24 hours prior to departure. Othe check-in methods include checking in online through the website which is available from 36 hours prior to scheduled departure.
