Yemenia, the national airline of Yemen, is based in the capital city, Sana'a, and was established in the 1940s. Over the decades, the airline has undergone several name changes and had a period of partial ownership by Saudi Arabia. In 1978, it adopted its current name, "Yemenia," and became fully state-owned again in 1990. Yemenia operates an international network connecting key cities in the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Southeast Asia. It also partners with its subsidiary low-cost carrier, Felix Airways, for codeshare flights, serving a total of 31 cities worldwide, making it one of the prominent international airlines in the Middle East.
Yemenia’s fleet consists of Airbus A310, A320, and A330 aircraft. It offers three classes of service: Economy, Business, and First Class. However, the A310 and A320 only provide Economy and Business classes, while the A330 offers Economy and First Class seating configurations.
Yemenia's frequent flyer program, the "Sama Loyalty Club," rewards passengers with miles that can upgrade their membership tiers and unlock exclusive benefits. The Bronze tier offers 20kg of additional baggage allowance, the Silver tier allows 30kg, and the highest Gold tier grants 40kg of free excess baggage and access to airport lounges. Members also receive up to 3,000 bonus miles on their first flight. This program adds value to frequent flyers with generous perks and benefits.
