Chania

Chania is the second largest city on the Greek Island of Crete. Chania is located on the North-West end of the island. Chania has a rich Venetian and Turkish history. Chania has many fantastic, old Venetian lighthouses and grand, Turkish mosques nestled amongst its narrow streets. In 14th century Venetians build a beautiful harbour in Chania. This Venetian Harbour still stands today and is a popular tourist destination. Chania also has many beautiful beaches and waterfront restaurants serving fresh seafood worth visiting.

Voice of Travelers to Chania

Genovefa from Greece

My name is Genovefa and I live with my husband and two sons (7 and 9 years old) in Thessaloniki. This summer I sent my two boys to visit their grandparents in Chania. I bought them tickets with Olympic Air. For a €10 fee I added unaccompanied minor service to their tickets. I took the boy to the airport where a lady from Olympic Air ground personal picked up the boys and their tickets. The cabin crew were very friendly and looked after them well. Both boys enjoyed their flight to Chania. Thanks to this service I didn't have to take time off work and buy an air ticket for myself to fly with them.

Kurt from Sweden

Hi, I'm Kurt from Malmo. I love sunny weather and windsurfing. This year I decided to get a plane ticket to Chania. I have my own windsurf board, which I wanted to take with me to Chania, so I would only book a ticket with an airline which would transport my board. I found that Primera Air Nordic allows ticket holders to take sporting equipment. When I booked my ticket I made sure to indicate I will be taking a windsurf board and sail. I had no trouble at the airport and my windsurf arrived safely and undamaged in Chania. I would happily book flight tickets with Primera Air Nordic again.

Natasha from England

I'm Natasha from Manchester. I just came back from a holiday in Chania. I booked my tickets with Thomson Airways. The flight went smoothly. On board I read the inflight magazine. There was a fascinating article about Cuba in the magazine. It made me want to book an air ticket there too. In Chania I enjoyed staying in my all-inclusive resort and went to the beaches. I went sunbathing and swimming at the Iguana Beach. I also went on a hike to Topolia Gorge, just 1 hour away from Chania. I found my stay in Chania very relaxing and I recommended my parent to get flight tickets and go for a holiday there. Apparently Chania gets nice weather year round, so they could go in autumn when it's a bit cooler.
