Voice of Travelers to Bologna
Siobhan from Ireland
My name is Siobhan and I am from Dublin. I really had a lot of fun exploring Bologna. I went on many walks around Bologna. The week I was in Bologna there was a Farmer's Market on, so I bought artisan jams and preserves. I will share them with my family when I'm back home. I booked my AerLingus ticket between Dublin and Bologna about 3 months ago. A friend of mine went to Bologna last year and she said it was an interesting place. She got her air tickets with RyanAir, but prefer AerLingus and I have a frequent flier card with them. Each ticket gets me mile points, which I eventually hope to redeem for a free flight ticket.
Luka from Germany
Hi, my name is Luka and I come from Düsseldorf. I just came back from a family holiday in Bologna. I went with my husband and parents. We bought air tickets with AirBerlin and we thought that was a good choice. The staff was courteous and we had no trouble with our flight. We used my husband's smartphone to get the AirBerlin app and upload our electronic tickets on it. It's useful because we could upload all our tickets - mine, his and my parents, on just one smartphone. I like this system because I don't have to worry about losing my ticket.
Mimhet from United Arab Emirates
My name is Mimhet and I am from Dubai. I recently went to an academic conference at Bologna University. My ticket to Bologna was booked by my assistant. I asked my assistant to add the use of Emirates lounge to my ticket. The plane journey went well. On the plane I was served a vegetarian dish, as I requested, and a cup of coffee. I managed to get some work done on my laptop. Emirates offer wi-fi on board. The internet was a bit slow, but good enough to let me work on my emails. I was impressed with the University building. In my spare time I got a chance to visit Teatro Comunale, which I would recommend getting a ticket to visit if in Bologna.
Bologna Travel FAQs
Q. Is buying a return flight ticket to Bologna better value than buying two single tickets?
A. The answer depends on if you plan to buy your air ticket with a national carrier or a cheap-flight airline. If you intend to buy your ticket with one of the conventional airlines usually buying a return ticket provides best value. If you would like to buy a cheap-flight ticket then buying a return ticket would cost you the same as buying two single tickets. Therefore if you go for cheap-flight airlines you can shop around and, for example, fly out to Bologna with one airline and return with a different one.
