Emirates Airline, based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, began operations with just two aircraft—a Boeing 737 and an Airbus A300. Leveraging substantial financial resources, the airline aggressively expanded its route network, evolving into a global carrier serving cities across all continents. Dubai's rapid development, characterized by skyscrapers and luxury hotels, reflects the city's ambitious investment strategies, with Emirates Airline playing a pivotal role in this growth. Through significant investments, Emirates has transformed into a leading mega-airline, continually ordering large aircraft to meet global demand.
As of 2015, Emirates is the largest operator of both the Airbus A380 and the Boeing 777. The A380 is the world's first full-length double-deck jet airliner, while the B777 is the largest twin-engine aircraft globally. Emirates' ability to acquire and operate such large aircraft underscores its international credibility and operational capacity. The airline plans to introduce a two-class configuration (Business and Economy) aircraft with 604 seats for medium-haul routes. If implemented as planned, this configuration would surpass the previous record held by All Nippon Airways' two-class Boeing 747-400D, which had 565 seats, setting a new benchmark with over 600 seats. This development would establish a new record for the highest number of seats on a commercial aircraft.
