The on-board services provided by Japan Airlines to customers are among the best in the world. Air ticket holders can choose between four seat classes, including: First Class, Business Class, Premium Economy Class, and Economy Class. JAL's aircrafts are also equipped with the most advanced on-board entertainment systems.
Japan Airlines provides an excellent variety of menus with delicious meals that include the following: Japanese cuisine, Western cuisine, A la carte (eat what you want, when you want), and route specific meals. Special meals for dietary needs are also available but require air ticket buyers to notify the airline at least 24 hours prior to the flight.
While ANA is the largest airline in Japan, Japan Airlines is the country's flagship air carrier and national airline of Japan. Both are highly regarded however and prices stay at pretty similar fares for air tickets.
The main difference between ANA and Japan Airlines is their airline alliance and partner airlines. ANA is part of Star Alliance and partners with United Airlines, Lufthansa, Turkish Airlines and others, whereas Japan Airlines is part of the oneworld alliance, partnering with Qatar Airlines, American Airlines and others. If you regularly fly with American Airlines, Japan Airlines is most likely the better option, as you can earn miles between the two.
Japan Airlines offers frequent air ticket buyers a mileage program called JAL Mileage Bank, or shortened as JMB. Air ticket buyers who choose to become members of JMB can earn mileage points for the following: buying air tickets, buying at partners of JMB like Amazon or Belle Maison, and over 400 other online stores. Japan Airlines also offers mileage points to air ticket purchasers who stay at JMB partner hotels, which include over 15,000 hotels around the world. Japan Airlines customers can also earn mileage points for selecting baggage delivery services and other services for a small fee.
