Stopping to see Uruguay

While Uruguay was never on my travel list, I decided to stop in Montevideo while traveling from Miami to Argentina. For this reason, I purchased an onward ticket which included a two-day stop-over in Uruguay. The ticket agency arranged a hotel in Uruguay's capital which was included in the price of the package, as well as the transfer from and to the airport. The airfare ticket was purchased with Delta Airlines. While the ticket was rather pricey, I believe it was cheaper than to fly from Miami to Uruguay and back. Delta Airlines offered great service and good food which was included in the price of the airfare ticket. While I didn't like Montevideo all that much, I am glad I did not purchase a direct return ticket to Uruguay but included it in my onward ticket with my travel to Argentina.

Attending a conference in Uruguay

When I learned that my company wanted to send me to Uruguay to attend a conference, I first went to a ticket agency and tried to book a direct return ticket from Germany to Uruguay. I learned, however, that there are no such tickets available for Uruguay because there are no direct flights to any airport in Uruguay from Germany. So, I had to buy a ticket with Iberia Airlines and fly first to Madrid before boarding the flight to Montevideo. This was the cheapest ticket option I booked as advised by the ticket agency. Iberia delivered perfect service, both on the flight to Spain and then to Bolivia. Waiting at the airport in Madrid was a bit long, but there was food included in the price of the ticket.
