Even though it has been reclaimed, the lake's area is one-tenth of Lake Hachiro. It boasts an area of about 27.7 square meters, and is a national fishing mecca. There are many kinds of fish, such as black bass, crucian carp, carp and mullet. Especially during the season when the lake freezes over, smelt fishing becomes very popular.
