MIAT Mongolian Airlines is one of two national airlines of Mongolia, and is headquartered in the capital of Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar. Mongolian Airlines operates globally, with scheduled services from its headquarters at the Chinggis Khaan International Airport.
MIAT Airlines was founded in 1956 and started operations with the help of Aeroflot with their first flight on July 7, 1956 from Irkutsk to Ulaanbaatar.
For Economy Class passengers MIAT Mongolian allows one piece of free checked baggage of up to 23kg. Business Class passengers may bring two piece of checked baggage of up to 23kg per piece. For most flight routes to Europe (apart from Frankfurt and Moscow) Business Class passengers have a checked baggage allowance of one piece of up to 32kg.

MIAT Mongolian Airlines has codeshare agreements with Aeroflot, Cathay Pacific, JAL and Korean Air.
MIAT Mongolian has not had a serious accident for over 20 years and is considered a safe airline.
MIAT Mongolian Airlines has a frequent flyer and mileage program called Blue Sky Mongolia for customers to collect miles and points. Customers can sign up for free to use the mileage program and get free miles on sign up. Miles earned can be used for flight discounts and upgrades.
MIAT is not currently part of any global airline alliance and therefore points cannot currently be shared or used for any other airlines.
Mongolian Airlines recommends you reach the airport terminal at least 2.5 hours before flight departure time. Passengers should make certain that they arrive early tp they have enough time for the any check-in procedures. Passengers have the option of checking-in online, at the self-service kiosks, or at the airport counters.
