1. International Students from Countries All Over the World

Lonsdale Institute is home to students from Europe and many other countries, with more than half of the students at both the Melbourne and Sydney institutes coming from Europe and South America.

Students at Lonsdale Institute will learn not only English, but also accents and cultures from people from different backgrounds.

2. Two-instructor Homeroom System

Lonsdale Institute adopts a two-instructor system, which is not often seen at other language schools.

Students may become bored with the same teaching style or become accustomed to the same instructor's accent if they are taught by the same instructor for the entire duration of their stay in the country.

By adopting a two-instructor system, students can always refresh themselves and make new discoveries based on the pronunciation characteristics of the different instructors.

3. Many Specialized Courses

Students at Lonsdale Institute can choose to study English as a second language at Bespoke or join a business skills course if they have reached a certain level of proficiency after their studies at Bespoke.

Lonsdale Institute's Career and Culture class offerings are also a big part of what makes Lonsdale Institute so special!

Classes are held from 1:30PM to 2:30PM, which are mandatory for classes held three and four days a week.

Other classes, however, are free of charge as there are no mandatory classes during this time.

Topics include Creative Writing, Life in Australia, English for Business and many other interesting topics.
Students can also join Career and Culture classes to further improve their English and meet more international students.

Programs

• General English / Bespoke (English course)

  This Bespoke General English program focuses on fluency in English. Students will improve their English in all essential skills, including speaking and pronunciation, and become confident communicators in English conversations.
  
  The curriculum covers a wide range of topics such as culture, dreams and lifestyles. Some students may choose to continue on to other English courses after they have acquired the basic English language skills in this program.
  
  The program consists of 20 hours of lessons per week and students can choose from 5-Day Morning Class, 4-Day Morning Class, 3-Day Morning Class, Class 2 and 5-Day Evening Class depending on the day and time they wish to take the classes.

• IELTS Exam Preparation / Bespoke (English course)

  This program is designed to help students achieve a score of 6.0 or higher in each skill on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), the world's best-known English language test.
  
  The minimum entry requirement is B1+ on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and the objective is to reach a level equivalent to B2 or C1 by the end of the program.
  
  Students will not only learn to improve their English language skills but also analyze the characteristics of the IELTS examination and take practice tests. This program consists of 20 hours per week and is scheduled on the Morning class program.

• Business / Lonsdale Institute (Vocational training course)

  This program provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary for business, as well as hands-on experience, and aims to help them acquire a wide range of business skills.
  
  The program consists of five different courses, each of which is designed to provide students with the appropriate certification.
  
  Certificate II in Workplace, Certificate III in Business and Certificate IV in Entrepreneurship and Business require a maximum of 8 hours per week, while the Diploma of Business requires 8-12 hours per week. The Advanced Diploma of Business requires 10 to 14 hours of instruction per week.

• Marketing and Communication / Lonsdale Institute (Vocational training course)

  This program is designed to teach concepts and strategies in marketing, a field that has been gaining importance in recent years.
  
  The Certificate IV in Marketing and Communication is a 20-week program with 10 to 14 hours of instruction per week, while the Diploma of Marketing and Communication is a 40-week program with 12 to 16 hours of classes per week. The minimum participation level is commonly Upper Intermediate.

• Project Management / Lonsdale Institute (Vocational training course)

  This program teaches the skills necessary for project managers, including management positions.
  
  The Diploma of Project Management is a 20-week program with 10 to 14 hours of lessons per week, while the Advanced Diploma of Project Management is a 40-week program with 12 to 16 hours of lessons per week. The minimum entry level is generally Upper Intermediate.

• Leadership and Management / Lonsdale Institute (Vocational training course)

  This program is intended to develop or enhance leadership skills. It is divided into two courses, each of which, depending on the level, will lead to the corresponding certification.
  
  The Diploma of Leadership and Management consists of 10 to 14 hours of lessons per week, while the Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management consists of 12 to 16 hours of lessons per week. The minimum entry level is generally Upper Intermediate and duration of study for both courses is 40 weeks each course.

Area Features
