Programs

  • General English

    This is a General English course designed to teach the four basic skills of English (listening, reading, speaking and writing).

    Students can enroll for a minimum of 2 weeks and will be placed into one of six levels after taking a placement test. The standard time frame for level advancement is set at 12 weeks, with a maximum of 72 weeks.
    Morning and evening classes are offered, each with 2 periods of 4 hours per day, excluding a 10-minute break.

  • English for Academic Purposes (EAP)

    This course is a 12-week College Preparatory English course designed to prepare students for the academic rigor of a degree course with a focus on critical thinking, academic writing, presentation skills and referencing.

    Students are required to have an English level equivalent to the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) 5.0 at the start of the course. The time schedule for this course is available only in the evenings.

  • Pearson Test of English (PTE)

    This is a 12-week course designed to improve students' scores on the Pearson Test of English (PTE), an Academic English Language Proficiency Test.
    PTE is a new test that started in 2009 and though not widely used, it is already gaining recognition in the US and Europe, and has been approved in Australia as the standard for measuring English language proficiency for visa applications.

    As with the English for Academic Purposes (EAP), students are required to have an English level equivalent to the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) 5.0 at the start of the course.
    The time schedule for this course is available only in the evenings.

  • nternational English Language Testing System (IELTS)

    This is a 12-week or 24-week course designed to improve students' IELTS scores. As with the PTE, there is a practice test every 4 weeks and classes are limited to evening classes only.

    Students are separated into the Foundation Course and the Advanced Course according to their level of English proficiency.
    A minimum score of 5.0 is required to start in the Foundation Course and 5.5 or equivalent is required to start in the Advanced Course.
    Similar to the PTE course, there is a practice test every 4 weeks and classes are only offered in evening classes.

  • Specialized Courses

    Albright offers extensive programs of English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS) Courses as well as Vocational Education and Training (VET) Courses in specialized fields of study.

    Albright Melbourne campus offers the Business & Marketing Course which ranges from 6 months to 1 year, the Civil Construction Design Course which is 2 years, the Information Technology Course which is 2 years, the Leadership & Management Course which is 1 to 2 years and the Hospitality & Management Course which is 1 to 2 years.
