Just by itself, the building of the National Museum of Anthropology, in Cocheiros, is worth a long visit. This house was built at the end of the 18th century by a Portuguese noble family, is visible in its official pink color. According to the inspection report of the strongholds of Luanda and Angola, by the military engineer, then major (later general), Francisco Xavier Lopes in 1846, this fort was erected by Dutch forces. It was then only made up of the lower battery, excavated on the cliff by forces of the Dutch West Indies Company (WIC) between 1641 and 1648, using the labor of prisoners.
