B! LINE

A new cable car stretching across the waterfront of Yokohama is set to open on April 22nd this year. The Yokohama Air Cabin will take passengers from Sakuragicho Station to Shinko Pier, one of the city's most popular tourist spots. Along the way the cable car will pass by the iconic skyline of Yokohama, by the waterfront of the Minato Mirai 21 area.

While the cable car does make it easier to reach one of Yokohama's most famous tourist destinations with ease, it's near enough to walk there, the main interest is for the ride itself.

The nearby Ferris wheel, Cosmo Clock 21, has been one of the most popular spots to head to for the beautiful night view of Yokohama. However as one of the most iconic parts of the skyline, being actually on the wheel itself means you won't get a view of it. The new cable car will offer some of the best views of the skyline of Yokohama and Minato Mirai.

How Much Will the Air Cabin Cost?

A one way ticket will cost ¥1,000 for adults and ¥500 for primary school students (children under three don't need tickets). Currently there are no tourist packages or discounts for the Yokohama Air Cabin.

The ride will last about five minutes as it takes passengers to Shinko Pier.

Operating hours are from 10:00-22:00.

How to Get to the Yokohama Air Cabin

The Yokohama Air Cabin is connected with Sakuragicho Station (along the Keihin-Tōhoku Line, Yokohama Line and Yokohama Subway Blue Line).

From places along the Yamanote Line such as Shinjuku or Shibuya, transfer to the Keihin-Tōhoku Line or take the Keihin-Tōhoku Line straight from Ueno or Tokyo Stations. From Haneda Airport, change trains at Yokohama Station.
