From other parts of Kyushu, it takes about 3.5 hours to reach Takachiho Bus Center by highway bus from Tenjin Station in Hakata, or approximately 3 hours by limited express bus from Kumamoto Station.

If traveling by train, take a JR limited express from Miyazaki Station or Oita Station to Nobeoka Station. From Nobeoka, board the local "Takachiho-bound" bus, which takes about 1.5 hours to reach the area.
