What is Camp Nou?

As mentioned earlier, Camp Nou is the home stadium of the popular team FC Barcelona. FC Barcelona is a traditional powerhouse in Spain’s top league, and along with another popular team, “Real Madrid,” has long been a leader in Spanish soccer.

Because it has long been the home of such a historic and popular powerhouse team, Camp Nou has become one of the iconic stadiums of Spanish soccer.

Its maximum capacity is about 99,400 people, making it the largest in Europe.

The history of Camp Nou

“FC Barcelona” was founded in 1899. At that time, the club had no home ground, and until “Camp de Les Corts” was built in 1922, they moved from one local ground to another.

However, even Camp de Les Corts was forced to relocate to the suburbs due to increasing housing demand in Barcelona. Thus, in 1957, Camp Nou was built as the new home stadium.

In the 1982 FIFA World Cup, it was used as the opening venue, which made it famous around the world.

What is the Camp Nou tour?

In Spanish soccer, FC Barcelona stands alongside Real Madrid as one of the two giants. Even if you cannot watch a match, the “Camp Nou Experience” tour allows you to fulfill the desire of “Since I came all the way to Spain, I want to see Camp Nou!”

The stadium tour of FC Barcelona’s home ground is called the Camp Nou Experience. In the museum, you can closely see FC Barcelona’s history, championship trophies, and uniforms of past players.

The biggest highlight is that you can also tour areas such as the stands and the broadcasting box, which are normally off-limits. Be sure to bring your camera and take commemorative photos.

Watching matches at Camp Nou

When watching a match at Camp Nou, choosing your seat is important to make the best memories.

The first-floor seats are close to the pitch, allowing you to clearly see the players’ faces, making them recommended for those who want to feel the intensity of the game. The second-floor seats do not allow you to watch the match as closely, but you can view the entire field, making it enjoyable from a bird’s-eye perspective to see the flow of play and player positioning.

The third- and fourth-floor seats let you watch the match from a much higher vantage point. Although the distance from the players is greater, the prices are lower, making them recommended for those who want to keep costs down.
