A complete guide to Kuala Lumpur’s night view spot, the Petronas Twin Towers!
1. What are the Petronas Twin Towers?

Completed in 1998, the Petronas Twin Towers are skyscrapers standing at 452 meters tall. For five years, until 2003, they held the title of the world’s tallest buildings, but they relinquished the top spot when Taipei 101 was completed.
However, they still hold the record as the world’s tallest twin towers. The two spires, reminiscent of a mosque, create a striking impression.
Interestingly, a Japanese company was involved in the construction of the Petronas Twin Towers. Tower 1 was built by a Japanese company, Tower 2 by a South Korean company, and the Skybridge on the 41st and 42nd floors was constructed by a French company.
Adjacent to the towers, there is also a shopping mall, allowing visitors to enjoy not only the breathtaking view but also shopping and dining.
2. Japan's world-class architectural technology

The company that built Tower 1 is Hazama Corporation, a major Japanese construction firm. Hazama Corporation, known for constructing Kurobe Dam and the Seikan Tunnel in Japan, also showcased its advanced engineering skills in the construction of the Petronas Twin Towers. One of their most impressive achievements was the development of high-strength concrete capable of withstanding 800 kg per square cm. It is no exaggeration to say that Japan’s cutting-edge construction technology was crucial to the successful completion of the towers.
3. The Skybridge and Observatory connecting the towers

The Skybridge, which links the two towers, is located on the 41st and 42nd floors. With glass panels on both sides, visitors can experience the sensation of floating in midair while enjoying a panoramic view of the city.
Walking 170 meters above the ground is an exhilarating experience, but for those with a fear of heights, it can be quite daunting.
Additionally, on the 86th floor, there is an observation deck at 370 meters, offering a diorama-like view of Kuala Lumpur. Both the Skybridge and the observation deck require an admission fee and operate on a timed entry system, with new visitors admitted every 15 minutes. As the area tends to get very crowded, it is highly recommended to book tickets in advance through the official website.
4. The shopping mall "Suria KLCC"

Suria KLCC is a shopping mall adjacent to the Petronas Twin Towers. It is directly connected to KLCC Station, making access highly convenient. Japanese retailers such as Isetan and Kinokuniya Bookstore are among the tenants, along with boutiques, cafes, and souvenir shops, making it a perfect spot for shopping. Outside the building, there is a fountain plaza, which is also a popular dating spot for locals.
