5 Recommended Power-Charging Tourist Spots in Suzu City, Ishikawa Prefecture
1. Mitsukejima (Battleship Island)

Located within the Noto Peninsula National Park in Suzu, Mitsukejima—also known locally as "Battleship Island"—was named "Mitsukejima" because the revered Kobo Daishi is said to have first discovered the island when he crossed from Sado Island to the Noto Peninsula.
Local residents call it "Battleship Island" due to its shape resembling a battleship. It is a symbolic spot of Suzu City, and many tourists flock here for its striking scenery.
Walking along the stone path leading to the island evokes a romantic feeling. Visitors come here at low tide or at dusk to catch the view. Nearby is the Mitsuke Tea House, where you can relax and admire the sunset. There are also many other attractive spots in the area such as campgrounds, beaches, and hot springs.
On the island, a small shrine still remains amid nature. It is said that it once enshrined a deity for matchmaking (and one that also protected against maritime disasters).
Approximately 3.5 km south of Mitsukejima lies Renjo Kaigan (a coast named after the legendary tragic love story "Hiren Densetsu" passed down in Suzu). Every year, on the day before Marine Day in July, the "Renjo Fire Festival" is held. Therefore, the coastal strip from Mitsukejima to Renjo Kaigan is known as "Enmusubi Beach" and is extremely popular as a date spot. At Enmusubi Beach, there is even a heart-shaped bell monument representing Suzu’s most famous dating spot.
2. Notojisou
Notojisou is a public lodging facility located immediately adjacent to Mitsukejima in Suzu. It is frequently visited by couples and tourists who come to see Mitsukejima or enjoy the beach. It even features an onsen, allowing you to soak in an open-air bath while leisurely admiring the romantic scenery of Mitsukejima in Suzu.
Day-use bathing is available at a very affordable price—600 yen for adults and 300 yen for children.
As a “public lodging” in Suzu, this traditional Japanese inn offers a luxurious Japanese-style lobby, spacious and clean tatami rooms, and superb seafood dishes, allowing guests to enjoy a taste of luxury. If you truly want to maximize your Suzu sightseeing experience, be sure to stop here.

3. Kongozaki (Suzu Cape)
At the tip of Honshu, facing the Sea of Japan, lies the cape on the Noto Peninsula known as "Kongozaki" (Suzu Cape). It is one of Japan’s three major power spots and is sometimes called the "Sanctuary Cape."
From the "aerial observation deck" built on a steep cliff, you can view an uninterrupted panorama of the Sea of Japan from the very tip of Honshu. Here, you can directly feel the winds coming from the Asian mainland.
Installed at a considerably high position, the viewing platform features a mesh floor that also allows you to see directly below. This is a must-visit attraction to replenish your energy with breathtaking views.
◆ When visiting Kongozaki, you must also visit the "Blue Cave"
If you visit Kongozaki in Suzu, do not miss the "Blue Cave." As its name implies, the interior of this cave glows blue.
Light reflected off the Sea of Japan illuminates the interior of the cave in a serene blue, and the coral reef formations create a uniquely Japanese and mysterious atmosphere—a power spot truly befitting a "Sanctuary Cape."
When you think of the "Blue Cave," Italy’s Blue Cave is famous, but this "Blue Cave" in Suzu, where the cave created by Japan’s rough waves is illuminated in blue, is equally mystical and highly recommended.

The "Lamp Inn" is a ryokan (Japanese-style inn) that you must try if you ever visit Kongozaki, the tip of the Noto Peninsula. Built on the edge of the coastline at Kongozaki, this inn offers an open-air bath with a view of the Sea of Japan that is simply breathtaking.
Set against Kongozaki’s rugged cliffs, the blue light reflected from the Sea of Japan fills the room through the open-air bath, creating a healing atmosphere. At night, the inn is illuminated in a magical blue glow, making it a fitting accommodation in the "Sanctuary Cape" area of Suzu.
This inn is extremely popular throughout Japan and booking in advance is essential. In recent years, it has become internationally known, attracting many visitors from overseas. When visiting Kongozaki, this inn is not to be missed.
The inn is conveniently accessible—enabling you to reach the "Sanctuary Cape" in a minimum of 140 minutes from Haneda Airport by a shuttle taxi from Noto Satoyama Airport.
