Hannover is the capital city of Lower Saxony, a state of Germany. With a population of more than 518,000, Hannover has been recognized as the largest city in the state of Lower Saxony, a major center of Northern Germany, and the thirteenth largest city in the country. 1. Eilenriede

Our first sightseeing destination in Hannover is the Eilenriede. It is a 1,600-acre park located in the inner city of Hannover. Known locally as grüne Lunge or green lung, the Eilenriede consists of a connected forest area, one of the biggest forest areas in an inner city in Europe. Because of this, this sightseeing destination has become one of the largest urban parks in Europe. You could do a lot of various stuff when sightseeing at the Eilenriede including strolling, walks, horseback riding, bicycle riding, hiking, running, sunbathing, and skating.

2. Berggarten

The Berggarten is another sightseeing destination that you could go to when you are in Hannover. It was constructed on the annex of previous ice-age sand dunes. It was developed from a nursery garden to a botanical garden. The rainforest house was converted into an aquarium. At present, there are 11,000 different plants in the showhouses and theme gardens. It includes the largest orchid collection in Europe. The aquarium, on the other hand, is able to hold 300,000 liters of water. It is home to various marine species.

3. Royal Gardens of Herrenhausen

The Royal Gardens of Herrenhausen is one of the most prominent baroque formal gardens in Europe. Found in the city of Hannover, this sightseeing destination is made up of the Berggarten, the Great Garden, the Welfengarten, and the Georgengarten. There are a lot of things that you could do when you are the Royal Gardens of Herrenhausen. These include strolling and sightseeing around the ornamentation and superb fountains including marveling at the beautiful Herrenhausen Palace. 4. Hannover City hall

The Hannover City hall, also known as the New City Hall or the New Town Hall, is the city hall of Hannover which opened on July 20, 1913. 5. Erlebnis Zoo Hanover

The Erlebnis Zoo Hanover is a zoo that could be found at the heart of the city of Hannover. There are various theme worlds that could be found in the zoo. The Aegidienkirche is a church that could be found at the center of Hannover. Completed in 1347, it used to belong to the Lutheran denomination. This church used to be one of the three churches of the Old Town, the others being the Kreuzkirche and the Marktkirche. After being destroyed during the World War II, it was left as a war memorial. 8. Sprengel Museum

The Sprengel Museum is a museum which is home to one of the most important collections of contemporary art in Hannover and the rest of Germany. It is found in a building that has been designed by Peter and Ursula Trint and Dieter Quast. Such museum consists of works by notable artists which include Paul Klee, Pablo Picasso, Emil Nolde, Max Ernst, and Max Beckmann, among others. Formerly known as the Kestner-Museum, this museum was founded in 1889 in Hannover, making it the oldest museum that could be found in the city. The Museum August Kestner is noted for its wide array of displays and artifacts including those that are Egyptian and Graeo-Roman. Other exhibits which could be found inside the museum include medieval craftwork and modern design pieces. It would really be an interesting museum for sightseeing when you are in Hannover.
