5 Must-Visit Attractions in the Enchanting Cayman Islands
1. Stingray City

Stingray City is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the Cayman Islands, where visitors can touch and swim with stingrays in shallow waters. The name "Stingray City" is derived from the Japanese term "Akaei" (stingray), meaning a city full of stingrays.
This area was once used as a fishing ground, where fishermen would clean their catch, attracting stingrays. Over time, divers began feeding the stingrays, making them accustomed to human interaction, allowing visitors to safely touch and swim with them today.
Aside from interacting with stingrays, visitors can also enjoy snorkeling in the emerald-green waters. A local legend says that kissing a stingray brings seven years of good luck, so be sure to give it a try!
2. Seven Mile Beach

The most famous beach in the Cayman Islands, Seven Mile Beach, is located on the western coast of Grand Cayman. With its turquoise waters and endless stretches of white sand, it is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean.
Visitors can relax to the gentle sound of the waves or snorkel among coral reefs and tropical fish in the shallow waters. The beach also offers various marine activities, along with restaurants, bars, and showers, allowing visitors to enjoy a full day at the beach without worry.

3. Cayman Crystal Caves
The Cayman Crystal Caves is a stunning cave system located in Old Man Bay on the northern side of Grand Cayman. This hidden gem only became open to the public in 2016, making it a new and lesser-known tourist attraction in the country.
Surrounded by lush tropical rainforests, the caves offer an otherworldly experience with their stunning stalactites and stalagmites formed over hundreds of years. Inside, there is a beautiful underground lake, creating a breathtaking view.
The 90-minute guided tour runs four times a day, but advance reservations are required. Since the cave floors are uneven, comfortable walking shoes are recommended, as well as a light jacket, as temperatures drop inside the cave.
Legend has it that pirates once hid treasure in these caves, so who knows? You might just discover a hidden fortune!

4. Cayman Turtle Farm

Located in northwest Grand Cayman, the Cayman Turtle Farm is the only facility in the world dedicated to breeding green sea turtles. The Cayman Islands were once home to a large population of sea turtles, but after Columbus' discovery and centuries of overhunting, their numbers dwindled.
In 1968, the Cayman Turtle Farm was established by British and American investors to protect and breed sea turtles.
Today, the farm serves as both a conservation center and a marine life theme park, allowing visitors to touch and even swim with sea turtles. Be sure to bring swimwear if you plan to get up close with these amazing creatures!

5. Kittiwake Shipwreck
The Cayman Islands is a diver’s paradise, and among the many dive sites, the Kittiwake Shipwreck stands out as a top attraction.
In 2011, the USS Kittiwake, a former U.S. Navy vessel, was deliberately sunk off the northern side of Seven Mile Beach to create an artificial reef. While most shipwreck dives are reserved for experienced divers, the Kittiwake is designed for divers of all levels.
The wreck lies between 4 to 20 meters underwater, with all hazardous obstacles and doors removed, making it safe for beginners. Advanced divers can explore all five levels of the ship, while non-divers can still snorkel above the wreck to admire its 76-meter-long structure.
