What is Sumuide Beach?

Sumuide Beach is a beach located on Yagaji Island. Since Kouri Island is more famous, Sumuide Beach, which lies before it, is not as well known. However, it is a popular hidden gem for those in the know.
One of the highlights of camping at Sumuide Beach is stargazing. If you camp during a meteor shower, you can enjoy a breathtaking sky full of stars. The beach itself is shallow and gently sloping, making it a safe place for families with children to enjoy.
Access to Sumuide Beach

【By Car】
From Naha Airport, take the expressway from Naha IC to Kyoda IC, then continue north on National Route 58. Turn left at the Makiya Intersection and take Prefectural Route 110. Once you enter Yagaji Island, head toward Sumuide, and you will arrive in about 110 minutes.
*It is recommended to use the free section of "Naha Airport Road" from Naha Airport.
Parking is available freely. An entrance fee of 300 yen per adult and 100 yen per child is required.
What to do at Sumuide Beach

Camping is available starting at 2,000 yen. The facilities include showers and restrooms. You can bring your own barbecue, and charcoal is available as well.
There are plenty of marine activities such as sea kayaking, dragon boating, and snorkeling, ensuring that you will never get bored. There is also a grassy area where you can relax and enjoy a peaceful time.
