Shopping spree in Gangnam, Seoul! 4 Affordable shopping spots!
1. MIXXO
Founded in 2010, the Korean women's SPA brand "MIXXO" (Miso) is especially popular among office workers, making the Gangnam store a favorite shopping destination for OLs (office ladies). In the evenings, the store is bustling with women stopping by after work.
With a full lineup of clothing, shoes, bags, accessories, and innerwear, MIXXO is loved for its ability to provide total outfit coordination. The brand offers three styles—casual, basic, and elegant—ensuring plenty of options for both work and casual wear. It’s surprising to know that new items arrive almost daily! The best part? The affordable prices. Most items cost less than 100,000 KRW. Just a 4-minute walk from Gangnam Station on Subway Line 2, MIXXO is a must-visit shopping spot.
2. 8IGHT SECONDS
8IGHT SECONDS, often referred to as Korea’s version of fast fashion brands like H&M and Forever 21, is an emerging SPA brand developed by the Korean company First Wool Textile (Cheil Industries). The name comes from the idea that the human brain recognizes the present moment in an average of eight seconds, combined with the infinity symbol (∞), making for an interesting concept!
With affordable prices on clothing, shoes, bags, accessories, and innerwear, 8IGHT SECONDS enjoys immense popularity among those in their 20s and 30s. The ability to quickly incorporate the latest Korean fashion trends is a key feature of SPA brands. On weekends, couples can often be seen shopping together. Opened in 2012, the Gangnam store is conveniently located near Gangnam Station on Subway Line 2. Its spacious four-story layout is another draw for shoppers.

3. Gangnam Underground Shopping Center
Directly connected to Gangnam Station on Subway Line 2, this underground shopping center is a hotspot for local youth. Lined with over 200 stores along the underground passage, the majority cater to women in their 20s and 30s, offering a variety of fashion items.
With clothing, shoes, bags, accessories, and cosmetics available at local prices, the center becomes extremely crowded during the evening rush hour, packed with students and office workers. Renovated in 2011, it maintains a bright and welcoming atmosphere despite being underground. However, shoppers should take note that many stores do not accept returns or exchanges for clothing, and some do not accept credit cards. Be sure to check sizes and stitching carefully before purchasing.

4. GOTO MALL
Another underground shopping mall follows. While it has a similar name to the Gangnam Underground Shopping Center introduced earlier, GOTO MALL is actually located beneath the Express Bus Terminal Station, where Subway Lines 3, 7, and 9 intersect. Spanning 880 meters in length, this underground shopping street is packed with 630 stores, primarily offering women’s fashion items at low prices with a vast selection.
GOTO MALL is divided into three sections: the West Zone and Goto Zone mainly feature fashion items, while the East Zone is home to interior decor shops, furniture, bedding, and flower shops. There is also a small dining area, perfect for a quick bite or a break. A connecting passage from the center of the Goto Zone leads directly to Shinsegae Department Store and the popular gourmet mall FAMILLE STATION, making this entire area a great place to spend the whole day shopping!
