If You’re Going to Jungmun Resort, Here Are 3 Gourmet Spots You Should Definitely Try!
1. Ubowon (Daeyoo Land, Jeju Island)
First up is a restaurant we highly recommend! At Ubowon, you can enjoy “Kwon,” a high-class Jeju specialty made with pheasant meat. Located in Daeyoo Land, a leisure sports resort not far from the city center, this restaurant serves a dish not commonly familiar to foreign tourists but deeply rooted in Jeju culture. In the past, pheasant dishes were considered royal cuisine and even used for medicinal purposes.
While many restaurants in Jeju serve pheasant, Ubowon stands out for its extensive menu of pheasant dishes. Options include shabu-shabu, sashimi, dumplings, sukiyaki, fried chicken, and cold noodles. It’s a fantastic chance to try something unique and healthy—pheasant is said to be great for beauty and wellness!
2. Aji’s Jeju (Jeju Island)
While pheasant is great, many travelers want to enjoy classic Korean dishes at reasonable prices. If that sounds like you, Aji’s Jeju is the perfect spot. Even though it’s in a resort area, the prices are surprisingly budget-friendly. The restaurant has a cozy, old-school vibe, with both table seating and traditional tatami rooms.
Here, you can enjoy drinks and dishes unique to the island, like grilled or boiled Jeju specialties such as kkodungeo (grilled mackerel) and kalchi (braised hairtail). Their signature dish—the “Aji’s Jeju Set Meal (Jeongsik)”—features a full lineup of local delicacies like stir-fried black pork and grilled cherry sea bream (kkotmugui). Absolutely delicious!
By the way, it’s just a 5-minute taxi ride from the city center.

3. Sinunpang Garden (Jeju Island)
Last but not least is Sinunpang Garden! Jeju isn’t just known for seafood and pheasant—black pork is another local treasure. At this restaurant, you can savor juicy, flavorful black pork in a serene, nature-surrounded setting—perfect for a date.
As the name “Garden” suggests, the restaurant is located outside the city center and surrounded by beautiful nature. You can enjoy a mini BBQ experience as you grill your pork in a calm, open-air environment. It’s a truly satisfying experience.
What makes the food stand out is the freshness of the pork—it's tender, juicy, and the skin is perfectly crisp and fragrant. It’s delicious even with just a pinch of salt. Be sure to try Jeju’s signature black pork right here!
