Shopping in Kosovo, a country that has overcome conflict, can be enjoyed at malls and bazaars!

1. ALBI

Located in the southern suburbs of Kosovo’s capital Pristina, “ALBI” is the largest shopping mall in Kosovo. With nearly 100 shops, it is bustling with Kosovars enjoying shopping. The mall hosts international brands, apparel, cosmetics, shoes, general goods, daily necessities, and electronics.

It also has a bowling alley, a food court, and holds many events. As one of the few modern malls in Kosovo, it attracts many visitors for shopping and entertainment even on weekdays. It is a must-visit mall when shopping in Pristina.

2. Bazaar of Pristina

The bazaar (market) in Kosovo’s capital Pristina is also a popular shopping spot for tourists. Shops gradually open around 8 AM, but most are fully open by 9 AM. Besides fresh vegetables and fruits, local specialties such as fresh cheese and honey are also sold. Shops start closing from around 4 PM, and most are closed by 6 PM, so it’s best to visit earlier in the day.

The bazaar mainly sells daily goods and groceries, but some stalls also offer handicrafts and traditional costumes, making it a nice place to find souvenirs. There are also stands with local Kosovo dishes, so you can enjoy food as well.

3. Old Bazaar of Peja

The town of Peja, near the western edge of Kosovo, is a tourist city home to the UNESCO World Heritage “Medieval Monuments in Kosovo,” which includes the Patriarchate of Peć Monastery and Visoki Dečani Monastery. The Old Bazaar of Peja lies between the bus terminal and Martyrs’ Square, around the Bajrakli Mosque. The square in front of the mosque and the streets extending from it are lined with shops selling clothing, souvenirs, general goods, and jewelry. Although there are no fresh food shops, there are snacks like burek and bread, making it fun to eat while walking.

The bazaar is open daily, but Saturdays are especially lively with more shops open, making it very worthwhile to visit. You can fully enjoy shopping while strolling around. There are also local specialties such as cheese and honey, as well as handicrafts, so it’s a great place to buy souvenirs from Kosovo. If you visit Peja, be sure to stop by the Old Bazaar.

4. Meridian Express

This large supermarket is located in front of the bus station in Prizren, a central city in southern Kosovo. The area has been developed in recent years and is also convenient for sightseeing. Meridian Express is a relatively new supermarket in Prizren, well stocked and recommended for shopping.
