Istana Maimoon is one of the largest historical landmarks in Medan. It was built in 1988 by Maimon Sultan who died on September 9, 1924. The building has an area of 2722 square meters and it consists of 30 rooms. The building includes a unique collection of designs of Islamic, Malay, Spanish, Indian, and Italian cultural heritage. It is composed of two floors divided into three parts. In addition, there is a special room for the coronation of the Sultan. You can see some of the European heritage in the pillars and the floor of the building and the Islamic heritage represented in the ceiling of the building.

4. North Sumatra Museum

The North Sumatra Museum is one of the tourist destinations in the city of Medan. The museum was established in 1982 by Ministry of Education and Culture. The museum is considered the largest museum in North Sumatra including a large number of crafts and cultural heritage of Indonesia. The museum has a collection of 6,799 artworks that date back to Hindu, Buddhist and Islamic civilizations that settled in the city.
