Enjoy Jeju Island! 3 Recommended Spots Where You Can Have Fun Singing Karaoke
1. MAMA
Korean karaoke spots are a little different from those in Japan.
The biggest difference is the super high-energy service provided by the staff to make sure everyone has a great time. But don’t worry—it’s still just a karaoke place, not a host club!
The staff will use whatever Japanese they know and even put on a bit of a show. You’ll really feel the amazing hospitality spirit that Koreans are known for.
MAMA is located in the busiest downtown area of Jeju, called New Jeju (Shin Jeju). A good landmark is Maison Glad Jeju (formerly Jeju Grand Hotel). Around the hotel, you’ll see plenty of places to eat, izakayas, massage shops, and even signs in Japanese.
MAMA is on the basement first floor (B1F) of the New Island Hotel, just a 1-minute walk from Maison Glad Jeju. (See the next section for pricing details.)
The staff are all men, so it’s a great recommendation for groups of female travelers.
2. Karaoke Shilla (Shilla)
Also located near Maison Glad Jeju is "Karaoke Shilla." (Note: This is different from the Shilla Hotel!)
This one is also in the basement first floor (B1F), and there’s a sign in Japanese so you won’t miss it.
At MAMA, Shilla, and other respectable karaoke places in Jeju, the system is pretty much the same.
All-you-can-drink beer, soju, and tea
Unlimited karaoke (Japanese songs are available too!)
The cost is about 5,000 yen per person, with clear and upfront pricing. Some places offer group discounts as well. If you don’t order anything outside the basic set menu, there won’t be any extra charges. Overall, it’s a better deal than karaoke in Japan!
Just be sure to confirm the price with the manager (Mama-san) when you enter to avoid any misunderstandings.
At Karaoke Shilla, there are both male and female staff, so whether you’re a couple, a group of guys, or just girls, everyone can have fun.

3. Aroma Dome Night Club
Last but not least is "Aroma," officially known as Aroma Dome Night Club—the largest club in Jeju Island.
Aroma has more than 30 VIP rooms, all equipped with karaoke. But if you’re going to visit Aroma, just staying in the VIP room would be a waste!
The biggest highlight of Aroma is its massive retractable ceiling. Every few hours, the dome opens up, and you can gaze at the night sky. They even make artificial snow fall!
The first-floor area alone has over 400 seats, and a staff member will guide you to your spot. There are also seats on the 2nd and 3rd floors, which surround the stage.
Another exciting feature is the DJ’s grand entrance—believe it or not, the DJ booth descends from above like a gondola! Get ready for a show.

◎ Summary
What do you think? Jeju Island’s nightlife spots are full of charm, right?
For those who visited Jeju back in the 20th century, they might only have memories of wild party scenes. But today’s Jeju is a completely different world.
Finally, a word of caution for male visitors:
There are some karaoke establishments that may be a little shady. These places typically charge much higher rates than the legitimate karaoke spots mentioned earlier (sometimes over 10,000 yen for all-you-can-drink).
This is why it’s always a good idea to confirm the prices before entering any venue.
