What is ZIPAIR?

ZIPAIR is a mid- to long-haul international LCC (low-cost carrier) under the JAL Group. The aircraft offers two classes of seating: 272 standard seats and 18 premium “Zip Full-Flat” seats that recline 180 degrees.
There are no seatback monitors; instead, passengers use their own smartphones or tablets as screens. You can enjoy ZIPAIR’s original entertainment content on your device. In place of monitors, every seat is equipped with a power outlet — perfect for charging your phone during the flight.
The cabin also features free Wi-Fi, allowing internet access onboard. In-flight meals can be ordered using a self-order system via your smartphone or tablet. Convenient cashless payments are also supported.
ZIPAIR’s Bangkok Flight Schedule (as of June 2022):
Tokyo (Narita) departs at 17:05, arrives in Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) at 21:45 (operates daily).
Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) departs at 23:15, arrives in Tokyo (Narita) at 7:30 (operates daily).
All times are local.
Why ZIPAIR is Recommended for a Girls’ Trip to Bangkok♪

The biggest reason ZIPAIR is great for girls’ trips is its low airfare and the availability of direct flights to Suvarnabhumi International Airport. Although there are cheaper tickets to Bangkok than ZIPAIR, they usually require transfers, which can be a waste of time.
Full-service airline tickets are also generally more expensive.
With ZIPAIR, you can choose in-flight services like meals based on your needs, allowing you to cut unnecessary expenses — a big advantage.
Day 1: Leave Work Early and Start the Girls’ Trip from Narita Airport!

This trip to Thailand was planned by Mayu, who works for a trading company in Tokyo. She’ll enjoy a girls’ trip in Bangkok from June 16 to 20, 2022, with her university circle friend Asuka.
The main reason Mayu chose ZIPAIR was because her high school friend Ayako, who recently went to Hawaii, told her, “ZIPAIR is great for girls’ trips!”
Hearing that, Mayu consulted with Asuka and booked ZIPAIR tickets to Bangkok through Skyticket. Since they saved money on the flight, they decided to splurge on a luxurious stay at the 5-star Anantara Bangkok Riverside Resort & Spa.
Departure Day Has Arrived!

Mayu left her Tokyo office at noon and headed straight to Narita International Airport. On the train to the airport, she couldn’t contain her excitement about her first trip to Thailand.
Note: ZIPAIR uses Narita Airport Terminal 1, not Terminal 3 like most LCCs. Be careful when getting off the train, such as on the Keisei Skyliner or Narita Express.

At the airport, Asuka was already waiting at the departure lobby. Since the ZIPAIR flight to Bangkok departs at 17:05, it’s ideal to arrive at least 1.5 hours beforehand. After check-in and dropping off their luggage, they passed through security and enjoyed browsing the duty-free shops.
At 17:05, the plane began taxiing right on time and took off from Narita Airport. The flight to Bangkok takes about 6 hours and 40 minutes, arriving at 21:45.
With Wi-Fi available onboard and spacious seat pitch even in the standard class, both Mayu and Asuka were thrilled. They quickly shared photos of the stylish cabin on Instagram.
Arriving in Bangkok! Take a Taxi to Your Hotel

Mayu and Asuka arrived on time at 21:45 at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi International Airport and headed to their hotel by taxi. To catch a taxi in Bangkok, it’s recommended to install two apps: Grab and Bolt.
Grab is convenient for calling many taxis and even traveling to places outside the city like Ayutthaya. On the other hand, Bolt may have fewer vehicles available, but it stands out for its lower fares. Despite the smaller fleet, Bolt is still quite practical in Bangkok, nearly on par with Grab.
Both apps offer the option to request female drivers, making them reassuring choices for women on a girls’ trip or solo female travelers.
Recommended Girls’ Trip Hotel: Anantara Bangkok Riverside Resort & Spa

Bangkok is known for being a vibrant city, but the moment you step into Anantara Bangkok Riverside Resort & Spa, you're welcomed into a luxurious and stylish space. With top-notch hospitality and dependable service, your sightseeing in Bangkok is sure to be even more enjoyable.
Dining options are also superb, featuring restaurants like Benihana, a teppanyaki grill, and Trader Vic’s, where you can enjoy stylish barbecue dishes with a view of the Chao Phraya River.
As the name suggests, the hotel’s spa is like a true oasis — perfect for a girls’ trip and a great way to unwind from daily stress.
Day 2 – Touring Bangkok’s Three Major Temples

Now the real adventure begins!
Start the day with a buffet and à la carte breakfast at The Market, the hotel’s restaurant. The vibrant variety of dishes makes for an exciting start to their first morning in Bangkok, and both Mayu and Asuka were in high spirits.
Visiting the Three Major Temples (Wat Arun – Wat Pho – Wat Phra Kaew)

About 20 minutes north by taxi from the hotel is Wat Arun, a symbolic monument of Bangkok. Its temple exterior, adorned with fragments of shells and porcelain, is breathtakingly beautiful.
Around the temple, you can also rent traditional Thai costumes, which are very popular on Instagram. Mayu and Asuka captured unforgettable memories of their trip to Thailand there.

After Visiting Wat Arun, Take the Ferry (5 Baht / Approx. ¥20) Across the River to Wat Pho
After seeing Wat Arun, Mayu and Asuka took a ferry across the river for just 5 baht to reach Wat Pho. Built under King Rama III, the Reclining Buddha here is about 46 meters long and 15 meters tall — an impressive sight. But what also draws attention are the 108 mother-of-pearl inlays on the soles of the feet.

Wat Phra Kaew, also known as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, is famous for its jade Emerald Buddha statue. When visiting on a girls’ trip, it's a great place to pray for a safe journey in Bangkok. Of course, what Mayu and Asuka wished for remains a secret.
Travel Tip
From Anantara Bangkok Riverside Resort & Spa, a complimentary shuttle boat runs to Sathorn Pier from noon (11:00 on weekends and holidays) until 8:45 PM.
At Sathorn Pier, you can transfer to the Chao Phraya Express Boat, which also provides access by river to Wat Arun and Wat Pho.
Day 2 – The Heart of a Girls’ Trip! Stop by a Photogenic Café
After touring the three major temples, it was time for lunch and a little tea break at a stylish renovated café, just what a girls’ trip needs.
Just a 2-minute walk from Wat Pho is Ha Tien Cafe Bangkok, a trendy spot known for its antique decor and Instagram-worthy vibe — perfect for girls' trips.
The menu includes English translations, so there’s no need to worry about reading Thai. The highlight offerings include visually delightful chocolate cakes, fruit-topped desserts with cheese cream, coffee, and iced tea.
Other Recommended Cafés Near the Grand Palace (Three Major Temples)
Also near the Grand Palace is Blue Whale Cafe, famous for its blue tea made with butterfly pea flower. It’s one of the most Instagrammable cafés in Bangkok right now. With whale-inspired stylish interior design, it’s perfect for a memorable girls’ trip.
Name: Blue Whale Cafe
Address: 392 37 Maha Rat Rd, Phra Borom Maha Ratchawang, Phra Nakhon, Bangkok 10200, Thailand
Hours: 9:00–18:00 (Closed Mondays)
Day 2 – Trend Hunting at ICONSIAM

ICONSIAM is about 10 minutes by taxi from Ha Tien Cafe Bangkok. It’s currently one of the most popular and stylish shopping destinations in Bangkok, home to familiar names like Takashimaya. It’s a hot spot for discovering the latest trends.
Especially recommended for girls’ trips is the SookSiam area on the 1st floor, modeled after a floating market. You can find unique Thai souvenirs at reasonable prices and enjoy Instagrammable performances at the food stalls.
Mayu and Asuka indulged in local Thai sweets while enjoying their shopping spree.
Day 2 – Shopping & Dinner at Asiatique The Riverfront

Next, they headed to Asiatique The Riverfront from ICONSIAM. By transferring between the free shuttle boats at ICONSIAM Pier and Sathorn Pier, you can travel to Asiatique at no cost.
For a smart and enjoyable Bangkok sightseeing experience, make the most of Chao Phraya River boat travel.
What is Asiatique The Riverfront?

With its iconic Ferris wheel, Asiatique is about 2.5 times the size of Tokyo Dome and is divided into four districts. For girls’ trips, the Charoenkrung District and Factory District are must-visits.
The Charoenkrung District has around 1,000 shops selling souvenirs, accessories, and decorative items — perfect for finding unique pieces.
The Factory District has about 500 shops offering fashionable items for style-savvy travelers.
Reflecting on Their First Day Over Dinner at KODANG TALAY
Dinner time! KODANG TALAY, a riverside restaurant, serves delicious Thai seafood dishes. With photo-rich menus, there’s no need to worry if you don’t understand Thai. The popular dishes include Tom Yum Kung and Pla Kapong Neung Manao (steamed fish with lime sauce).
And so, their first night in Bangkok came to a close...
Day 3 – Take a Commemorative Photo from the Mahanakhon Skywalk
After breakfast at the hotel, Mayu and Asuka headed to the Mahanakhon Skywalk, about 18 minutes away by taxi. Located on the 78th floor of the King Power Mahanakhon building, the observation deck features a glass floor offering panoramic views of Bangkok from 314 meters above ground — a thrilling experience!
They took memorable photos on their smartphones, hearts racing.
Day 3 – Must-Visit Girls’ Trip Power Spot: Erawan Shrine

Next stop was the Erawan Shrine, known as one of Bangkok’s most powerful spiritual sites. Located in front of the Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel, it’s a classic spot on any girls’ trip. Tourists from Thailand and around the world come here year-round to make wishes.
It’s said that those whose wishes are granted must offer traditional dance or music performances, which is why troupes are always on standby nearby.
By the way, “Erawan” means “elephant.” The English word “elephant” is actually derived from this name.
What did Mayu and Asuka wish for? Of course, that’s a secret — but if their wishes come true, both agreed they’d love to return to Thailand again for another girls’ trip.
Day 3 – Visit the Home of Thailand’s Silk King: Jim Thompson House

Their final destination was the Jim Thompson House. Jim Thompson was an American known as Thailand’s “Silk King,” and this was his residence from 1958 until he mysteriously disappeared in 1967. The house, painted with traditional red bengara pigment, was constructed without nails and is a masterpiece of craftsmanship.
His collection, sourced from various regions in Thailand, is also well worth seeing.
Mayu and Asuka joined a guided tour with a English-speaking guide. The cultural and artistic artifacts on display are so significant, the site is worth visiting even beyond the context of a girls’ trip. They listened with great interest to stories about Jim Thompson and his treasures.
Name: Jim Thompson House
Address: 6 Kasem San 2 Alley, Wang Mai, Pathum Wan, Bangkok 10330, Thailand
Official Website: http://www.jimthompsonhouse.com/

▼Highly Recommended for Girls’ Trips! Jim Thompson Restaurant & Wine Bar
Surrounded by greenery, this stylish restaurant offers a relaxing escape from the hustle and bustle of the city — perfect for both girls’ trips and solo travelers. The massaman curry, gapao rice, and chicken with cashew nuts are all elegantly prepared and highly recommended. If you visit the museum, make sure to also enjoy a meal here.
Day 3 – Bangkok’s Own Akihabara!? Shopping at MBK Center

Just a 10-minute walk south of the Jim Thompson House, you’ll find the shopping mall MBK Center. On the former site of a Tokyu Department Store branch, MBK now features DON DON DONKI (the Southeast Asian version of Don Quijote). The 89,000 m² mall houses over 2,500 stores, each full of charm.
As a shopping haven for girls’ trips, MBK Center is packed with stylish and trendy goods — so much so you’ll have a hard time deciding what to buy!

Day 3 – The Highlight of the Girls’ Trip: Join the Manohra Cruise
After returning to their hotel by taxi, Mayu and Asuka participated in the Manohra Cruise, one of the highlights of their Bangkok trip. Aboard a traditional wooden boat, guests can enjoy fine cuisine and a luxurious, elegant experience — completely different from standard river cruises.
Mayu and Asuka spent a magical evening on the water, enjoying views of the Grand Palace and ICONSIAM, which they had visited the past two days.
Day 4 – Chatuchak Weekend Market

The final day of their girls’ trip in Bangkok! After breakfast at the hotel and checking out, Mayu and Asuka left their luggage with the concierge and took a taxi to the Chatuchak Weekend Market.

Day 4 – Taste Chiang Mai’s Khao Soi at Ong Tong Khao Soi
From Chatuchak Weekend Market, Mayu and Asuka took the BTS (Bangkok Skytrain) from Mo Chit Station to Ari Station.
Their goal: try khao soi at the specialty restaurant Ong Tong Khao Soi, which originated in Chiang Mai.
A 3-minute walk from Ari Station, the restaurant offers both soup khao soi and dry (soup-less) versions. The two decided to share both.
The soup version features a mildly spicy, slightly sweet broth that pairs perfectly with the noodles. The dry version has a spicier flavor and is just as delicious.
Name: Ong Tong Khao Soi
Address: 31 Phahonyothin Soi 7, Samsen Nai, Phaya Thai, Bangkok 10400, Thailand
Hours: Open year-round, 10:30–21:00
Day 4 – Heal Your Travel Fatigue at MY SPA
From Ari Station, they took the BTS 9 stations to Asok Station, directly connected to Exit 5 where MY SPA is located. This spa is popular even in Thailand and offers peace of mind with English-speaking staff.
A highlight is the Moroccan argan oil treatment (2,700 baht as of June 2022), which exfoliates dead skin and leaves it smooth.
Also popular is the Comfort Package (3,400 baht as of June 2022), which includes a choice of one of three massages: traditional Thai massage, aromatherapy oil massage, or deep-tissue sports massage.
Mayu and Asuka spent about three hours enjoying this luxurious and relaxing experience.

For their final dinner in Bangkok, Asuka made a reservation at Sorn, located about 3 km from MY SPA by car. This southern Thai cuisine restaurant is so popular it's notoriously difficult to book.
Named “The Best Restaurant in Thailand” and awarded two Michelin stars, Sorn serves a single course menu featuring carefully selected ingredients from the 14 southern provinces of Thailand, prepared using optimal cooking techniques. The exquisite dishes are truly beyond words in taste!
After dinner, they quickly took a taxi back to the hotel to pick up their luggage and headed for Suvarnabhumi International Airport.

At Narita, Mayu and Asuka boarded their respective trains — Mayu parted ways with Asuka at Chiba Station and headed straight to work. Time to return to daily life with a refreshed mindset!
The two silently vowed to return to Bangkok again if the wishes they made at Erawan Shrine ever come true.
