4 recommended festivals in Yurihama Town, Tottori Prefecture! Introducing the town of Hot Springs and Lakes

Yurihama Town, located in the center of Tottori Prefecture and facing the Sea of Japan. Yurihama was formed in October 2004 through the merger of three districts: Hawai Town, Tomari Village, and Tōgō Town. The name “Yurihama” comes from taking key features of the three areas: the “Yu” (hot spring water) from onsen, the “ri” (pear) from the famous Nijisseiki Pear, and the “hama” (beach) from sandy shores.

Popular sightseeing spots such as Hawai Onsen and Tōgō Onsen, located along the shores of Lake Tōgō, are among the best hot spring destinations. With soothing baths and luxurious meals, these hot spring towns draw many visitors. Yurihama, a new town with sweeping views of the Sea of Japan, is also home to wonderful festivals I’ll introduce here.
