The city is already well renowned for its dazzling skyline views and charming historical streets. The Eiffel Tower in particular is an unforgettable sight especially at night when the lights are turned on, and the bright arrondissements also feature beautiful illuminations that are just breathtaking from a balcony view. Paris is also known for its characteristic grey zinc rooftops that served as inspiration for Van Gogh and many other artists.

The Seine river crosses the capital of France, and its banks are always popular summer spots for relaxing and having a drink. A cruise on the Seine is a romantic way of soaking up Paris’s most iconic sites, such as the Notre-Dame, the stunning bridges, Le Louvre and Musée d’Orsay which are all across the water from each other.

Thirty-seven unique bridges are strewn across the Seine’s banks, the most iconic being Pont Neuf, with its stone carved faces on both sides of Île-de-la-Cité, and the Pont des Arts, a famous love lock spot. Canal Saint Martin also has a vibrant atmosphere on its banks, being home to many trendy restaurants and bars which are frequented by the youth of the city.

Paris is home to some of the most well-known museums in Europe, counting more than 150 of them. The Louvre, The Musée d’Orsay, l’Orangerie, The Musée Carnavalet, Centre Pompidou - all are located in Paris. Here you will find some of the most famous works of art, such as the Mona Lisa, The Thinker, the Venus de Milo, and many more. Many museums offer free entry on the first Sunday of the month.

The city served as an inspiration for many great philosophers, artists, and influencers which once lived in Paris. Vincent van Gogh, Salvador Dalí, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Edgar Degas, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Pablo Picasso, and Claude Monet all either worked or lived in or around Montmartre.

Parisians enjoy outdoor recreations, and it is understandable with such beautifully landscaped parks. There are plenty of green spaces all over Paris, where in the summer locals can sit down on the grass for a picnic or just lazily lounge in the shade.

From manicured parks like Jardin des Tuileries, Paris’ oldest and largest park, to the natural Parc des Buttes-Chaumont, you will not be short of options in terms of green spaces. The most popular is probably the Champ de Mars, where people can also enjoy the view of the Eiffel Tower.

There are also hundreds of patisseries, bistrots, street food stalls or shops that sell cheese, bread, and wine. While in Paris, no one can resist the temptation of croissants, macaroons, éclairs, soufflés, and other goodies.

Conclusion
